First timer in this weird new Covid world.

#1 Post by Liv2613 » Thu Oct 15, 2020 8:38 pm

Hi Everyone/Anyone!

My name is Liv and I'm 30 with PCOS. We have now had our first consultation and scan, our counselling and meet with the donation team is next week.

We are planning to use the multicycle package through access fertility and we are so ready to go full steam ahead with this now, but im not sure to what extent covid will affect treatment??

Also, before lockdown by BMI was 29... after lockdown its 32.5. I couldn't stay away from the bloody fridge and i couldn't swim 4 times a week like i was before! I have been told by my consultant that I need to loose that which is fine, but what I want to know is, will they start treatment with a bmi over 30 if you're self funding?

Finally, does anyone know what the timeframe is from choosing a sperm donation at the cryonbank and having it delivered, to actually beginning treatment?

Thanks in advance :D

Hi,

Starting Sunday that's really exciting!

Ahhhh I can relax about my BMI a bit then, don't get me wrong, i'm living on leaves to try and get it down as much as I can over the next 4 weeks, but at least I know its under 35 anyway!

We decided to use the California cryobank and I think it's about 3 weeks from ordering it, but I was wondering how long it takes to start meds once the sperm is there ready and waiting?

I wish you so much luck for the next few weeks :)

It wasnt long as soon as i had a donor they were straight onto the next cycle?

Did you find it easy using the cyrobank ?

If you dont mind my asking, how much have all your meds cost? Are you on a short or long protocol?

Of course will keep updating this post 🙂

Hi all ,

I am on the other forum but I thought I would pop on here too! I am a first timer, just in the middle of my Northisterone to start my short protocol hopefully November :-)

I am NHS funded so I haven’t paid for my meds I’m afraid!!

I know what you mean about BMI, mine had to be under 30 for NHS funding and I think I am just under , can’t afford to put any weight on! 😕😕

Good luck xxx
