Hi all,

I was back at pre-school yesterday. It was good to be back. I was with the 2-3 year olds for the first time. It was a bit more of a challenge than I anticipated and o didn't feel as comfortable as I do with the older ones. But I think that is because I don't know the children and don't know all their names. I still enjoyed it though. I'm back on Thursday.

Moosestar glad that the scan went well. I'm definitely getting stronger thank you :D

Jade hope the scan goes really well. I hope that both embies are there ☺️

Hi Ladies,

It's TWINS!! ❤❤

We had our scan this afternoon, and I'm relieved to say all is well, and we saw two perfectly beating hearts. Feeling so blessed. I know it was a real possibility, but definitely still a shock.

Totally worth the wait x

Thanks ladies, particularly Char. I almost feel guilty that I've been blessed with two and you were robbed of your one, seems unfair. I hope my messages aren't upsetting you. Glad your enjoying being back at nursery Char.

Yes moosestar, we had 11 eggs collected but only 2 fertilised. After that I'd told myself that if both made it to blasts it was a sign to have two transferred. When we were told that the second embryo was looking unlikely to make it to freeze it solidified our decision to have both transferred. Good job too, to think that one of our perfectly good babies could have gone to waste.

5 years of waiting.. and it all comes at once ❤❤
Not sure were realised what we're in for haha!

Thankyou ladies 💕

Char, I have to say, like Jade, I was really worried that my post would upset you and that’s the last thing I wanted to do, so I waited a few days to tell you all. I wish I could change your outcome for you, but I’m so glad you’re making your way through this and getting stronger all the time. Big love 💕

Jade, totally rooting for those 2 little fighters in there! 💕 Do you get an earlier scan as you have twins? I think you’re a week ahead of me? I’ll be 7w0d tomorrow. My next scan isn’t until 27 Nov, feels ages away.

Don't worry about upsetting me ladies, I'm really pleased for you. Jealous but pleased.

At the moment I'm glad to be back to normality. Had a great day with my Mother in Law at Harry Potter Studios. Off to bed shortly,it's been a long day and I'm at pre-school all day tomorrow.

Thanks ladies.

Yeah hoping for a nice and smooth pregnancy, if that's possible with twins (still not used to saying that). My mum's reaction was hillarious, she thought I was having her on.

Moosestar, I have no idea. I had my scan at the clinic at 7w+4 and was discharged to the NHS like a 'normal pregnant woman' as the nurse said. I have my first appointment with the midwife today at my GP surgery, so I hope to be much better informed afterwards. No idea if I will have an earlier scan now, nothing booked as yet so I'm assuming I just wait for the 12 week scan like everyone else. How are you feeling? My morning sickness has dissapered, so now I'm thinking that the 4 days of nauseau I had was actually just the start of that bug I had the other week. I was sick for the first time on Thursday, it caught me totally off guard because I didn't even feel rough. My only real symptoms are mood swings (big time) and fatigue.

Char B, glad routine is also helping and that you enjoyed HP studios! Appreciate your honesty, glad were not upsetting you, and I can more than understand the jealousy, been there too many times.

My close friend who did IVF at the same time as me had her scan 2 days after mine. Unfortunately there was no heartbeat, she called me up in hysterics, it was horrendous. I wish I could take her pain away, this is the second time she's had a missed miscarriage at around 6 weeks, I never in a million years thought this would happen to her again. It's made my success feel very bittersweet, I know it's important I don't feel guilty because I've waited a long time for this too, but it's hard. I wanted it so badly for us, it was a dream come true for us both to fall pregnant at the same time.

Hope you've all had a lovely weekend. X

Hi all,

Sorry to hear about your friend Jade. I hope it doesn't happen to me a second time. Hope your appointment with the midwife goes well.

I'm doing ok, my little memorial spot is now finished. We have our first counselling session on Thursday. It's going to be hard visiting Care I think but glad to be getting the support.

Hello ladies,

How did your midwife appointment go Jade? I’ve got mine booked for the 20 Nov. Did you get your green book? How are you feeling generally? Any further sickness? Hopefully it was just a one-off 🤞 for a smooth pregnancy. I’ve certainly spoken to ladies that have had very straightforward twin pregnancies 😊 Very sorry to hear about your friend, it must be devastating to go through the same experience twice 😔

Char, glad you have your memorial complete 💕😊 I hope your counseling goes well on Thursday

Hey ladies.

My midwife appointment went fine, finally got my pregnancy pack and green book, it's official! Although none of it feels real still. I will be under shared care meaning I have a midwife and a consultant as it's twins. The midwife said I'll probably find that the consultant takes over and i wont have very much to do with her. I'm still none the wiser, I didn't really know what to ask at the appointment, I think all will become clearer when I meet my consultant end of Jan. I have ordered an 'expecting twins' book to start reading. How did your midwife appointment go yesterday moosestar?

I'm feeling not too bad at all, week 8 I was plagued with serious exhaustion, by 3pm I was practically asleep at work, as soon as I got in I'd have a 2 hour nap, cook dinner then go to bed. The tiredness has definitely eased this week. Nausea/sickness hasn't been bad at all really, I get waves of feeling rough usually mid afternoon but I've only actually been sick twice (both times it caught me off guard in the kitchen!) Finding I have a real aversion to meat at the moment, particularly chicken breast 😷, very much been living on beige.

Char B, sorry, it might have been insensitive sharing about my friend, I don't want it to worry you. I just needed to share my sadness, it really has impacted me. The first time it happened was a natural pregnancy and the second IVF and both times her body didn't recognise the embryos heart had stopped, she has no bleeding and her body doesn't miscarry so she has to have intervention, it's awful. It's different to what you experienced so I don't for one minute believe you'll experience what you went through twice. Sorry again if I upset you x

Hi Jade,

Glad all is well, so pleased.

Don't worry you didn't upset me at all.

We had our counselling last week and decided to wait until we are starting the next cycle before having more sessions so that we can be as prepared as possible.

Moosestar hope you are ok?

Hi ladies,

Sorry I’ve been a bit incommunicado, work has just been really busy. I’m actually at a 3 day seminar atm, manning a stand and I’ve got a few mins before I have to meet others for dinner.

Jade, so pleased your midwife appointment went well and I’m sure it’s a bit of a relief to also have a consultant in your team 😊 It’s very similar to my set up, as I’m older, I’m higher risk, so my care is pretty much consultant lead. Like you, I’ve now got my green book and it’s all quite surreal! Glad you’re feeling pretty well💕, the nausea can be rough, but mine has definitely mellowed and, as you say, comes in waves. It’s by boobs that are just so painful! I hear you on the tiredness too #thestruggleisreal! I just seem to pass out and can’t fight it, at work it takes all my strength to stay awake!

Char, it sounds like the counseling has been a really positive step forward for you guys and so much better to get your thoughts straight before jumping into another cycle. Hopefully having more sessions will give you great strength to work from 💕

I’m 9wks exactly today and my scan next week, just can’t come soon enough! If all goes well, I’ll get another scan, just before Christmas 😊 My midwife seems lovely, which is a huge relief, as I’ve heard some can be a bit matter of fact. I’m just hoping I can through the next few days, with all the standing and entertaining!

Love to all

Hi all,

Moosestar, so so pleased for. I wish we were able to do the same.

We only had one counselling session, our counsellor said we were dealing with it all well and we are going to have more sessions when we start our next cycle. This way we can talk about our anxieties and be as prepared as possible for whatever comes out way.

No idea whether we will have a third attempt of the 2nd doesn't work, but we just need to take things as they come. We are a bit worried we might not even get a 2nd attempt because both our embies have been thawed once already. But hopefully they are strong enough 🤞. Can't believe it's December now! Will be booking our review appointment tomorrow.

Jade hope you are ok?

Char that's great that the counselling has helped you feel reassured and strengthened as you work out the next steps for you and hubby; so pleased they could see how well you are doing x

Moosestar that's beautiful to hear how you got on at the scan , so precious isn't it; and extra special when so longed for. Love your nickname for your little one 😍
What a wonderful time to announce your news too , so happy for you 😊
My 'pudding ' is growing and developing by the day and it's overwhelming to think how I have a soon to be one year old when this time last year I was getting ready to give birth !
Theo's almost walking and has been 'talking' before that ; favourite word at the moment is 'dog' 😂 so adorable how he repeats it so much and the 'g' sound in general right now .
Been planning his birthday; I've booked a room, ordered a bespoke Twirlywoos cake for him and we're having a party with hot buffet for around 15 or 16 of us - family, godparents & some close friends of ours - Theo's the only little one
though , he'll be the star ⭐️
Must dash as he's just waking for next milk 🍼
