Thank you good luck to you too.

Has anyone else been asked to be a part of a trial for sperm dna testing?

Hey baby 123
I had a blood thinner with my first ivf and it ended with my gorgeous son! I really wanted it this time though they refused as I didn’t actually test for blood issues previously as this was the only pregnacy that worked I’d strongly advise it! X
Still no af for me ladies it’s driving me insane!! X

Hi everyone,

Joining Care for the first time. I'm 41 and am on CD5. Has anyone in this group had FET and PGA tests?

Cheers

Hi and welcome,

I’ve had 3 FET previously.

For this new cycle we will be having PGA testing not had it before and therefore it’ll be FET again. We have also been offered a clinical trial for the fertile chip, which is some form of DNA testing on the sperm before ICSI.

We are on short protocol today is day 7 of injections and tomorrow we go for our first scan - hoping all is doing what it should be...

Evening all,

Second scan went well and we’re booked in for EC on Wednesday at 9am, luckily it means my trigger shot is at a decent time rather than having to get up in the middle of the night!

Scan showed 3 follicles were ready, 3 more are almost there and the others aren’t too far behind hopefully we get a good number that can be fertilised.

How’s everyone else doing with their protocols and injections?

Mcdowellray - well done with your first injection. Theyre not too bad once you get used to them

Apricat- thats great news! Im sure you will have even more come EC day, I did 😊

We have our consultation tomorrow afternoon & will be deciding our next plan of action. We have already paid for multi cycle & have one more left but I guess we need to wait the outcome of the consultation 🤞🏻🤞🏻

I will keep you all posted & well done everyone with your journeys so far. Hang in there we are made of stronger stuff than we realise 💪🏻💪🏻🥰xx

Hi ladies. Hope you are all doing well!

Well we had our consultation this afternoon & they have recommended two options for us.
1. To do the same medication as before (short protocol)
Which was high dosage of menopur

2. To do another short protocol with a lower dosage of menopur but with other medication as tablet form plus an increase of pessaries and to take supplements 6-8 weeks prior to next cycle to try & improve egg quality.

Obviously if i go with option 2 it will be January before treatment starts again

I ideally wanted to get straight into another cycle but understand their thought process.

Im in a difficult position too with my work as I currently work from home which is fantastic as i can attend appointments etc with no stress.
However im not particularly enjoying my job and been offered another one but is office based which im going to struggle to get time off for IVF.

Im so stressed in trying to make the right decisions.
I so want a baby but if the baby doesn’t happen and I stay in my current job im going to miss out on the new job opportunity.

Definitely something for me to think about 😢🙈xx

Baby 123 at least they have given you options and improving egg quality had to be a good thing.
I work full time so I know exactly what you mean about finding time off.

We’ve been lucky this time first scan was a Saturday second scan was Monday Monday morning (aka dental appointment) and the EC tomorrow (aka sickness)

There’s always ways around it to avoid needing to tell anyone although legally employers have to provide time off for IVF it’s whether you want to have that conversation early on in employment.

Looking forward to EC at 9am tomorrow, I’ve felt quite bloated and uncomfortable all day so it’ll be nice to just come home and rest tomorrow afternoon.

Our embryos are going for DNA testing this time so we already know we’re having FET so luckily for me I won’t need additional time off this month :)

We’ve taken a sweep stake on how many eggs we will get (last time I had 24!) My partner recons I’ll have 12 and I’m going for 10, will see who’s the closest tomorrow.

Hope everyone else is well

Yes im happy we have options & guess theres always another job i can apply for, whereas time isnt on our side with our baby situation & if I take the job like you said theres ways around it.

Good luck with EC tomorrow. I will be thinking about you both. 🤞🏻🍀😊
Take it easy afterwards. I just chilled for a few days after mine. Slept most of the day when I got home xx

Hi

Hope everyone is still doing well. We’ve had 12 eggs collected this morning really pleased with how it all went let’s hope they fertilise and grow now.
Although we are having a FET will be starting pessaries on Friday just in case.

Home now for a long sleep

Mcdowellray - 3 injections! My maximum was 2 a night and I thought that was bad enough... good luck with Fridays scan.

Had a lovely lazy afternoon OH has insisted on doing everything - could get used to this - back to work tomorrow for me.
Update call on the eggs is in the morning between 8-12.

Really pleased to say that out of the 12, 8 have fertilised successfully, these have all now gone into care mapping until Monday morning when the decision will be made as to whether they will be dna tested and FET or if we have a fresh transfer on Monday. It’s going to be a long few days now without any updates...
