Hi All, Got my blood results back today from tests last week and they show that I need to be on a higher dose of folic acid as apparently I am not absorbing the dose I am on and also there are issues with blood clotting. I have a chat with the consultant on the 29th June but will mean I will be on blood thinners for my next frozen cycle in August.

I have had a similar test result and so I'm now taking 5mg folic acid and I'll also be on blood thinners in my next cycle. Am also going to have an endo scratch too. Think mine will be August too!

Well I had the shock of my life this morning… late on period so needed to cancel my appointment at care Manchester as if I started at weekend I would still be bleeding for vaginal scan on Thursday… did a pregnancy test at work positive did another positive! Ran over to chemist (I work at gp practice) bought a clear blue digital pregnant 2-3 weeks I nearly passed out no contraception since 2010 … did bloods in work no results as yet will rot them in 48h … been for a private scan couldn’t see anything they said it’s because it’s to early to they’ve said it definitely a pregnancy but of unknown location I honestly won’t cope if I’m ectopic I can’t see how after 12 years my tubes will magically open … this is going to be a stressful weekend

Poppy rose, you’re right it only takes one and if you don’t try you would always wonder if it would have worked for you. Many women have low AMH, but that doesn’t actually say anything about the quality, which is the important bit.

Leezo I’m soo glad the frostie thawed ok and you’re doing well. Are you working during the TWW or taking it super easy?

Hi MBF2YO it sounds like we are in a similar position. The odds are low, I can’t help but think that I should have tried with donar eggs instead which would have significantly increased chances. Mine is undiagnosed infertility (now due to age). Have they diagnosed any particular issue with you?

Hi Tired Teacher, nothing wrong with putting yourself first at this time, although it’s something I find hard to do as well. I used to be a teacher so know how demanding that job is. Just try not to feel the guilt, this is a really important thing you need time for.

I didn’t start my stims until last night as my (normally regular as clockwork) period came a little late. I’m on Meriofert, my OH did all the mixing and it was fine, sure we’ll be pros at it by the end. I have read that apparently Meriofert is thought to produce better quality eggs, so I’m keeping fingers crossed that it’s true.

Mine is also unexplained infertility. Nothing showing as an issue with either of us so assume its age!

Gemma_P I am glad something has showed up and not surprised regarding blood clots as can suffer from them during periods
How did you find the injections how often did you have to do them were they easy to do?

Hey Russellg - I'm on Inhixa blood thinning injections. Most of the blood thinners are a derivative of enoxaparin I believe, a low molecular weight heparin. My jabs are in a prefilled syringe and I take it once an evening in my lower tummy. They are dead easy to do, although I let DH do mine as it makes him feel more involved and I don't have to worry about a shaky hand! They are a bit stingy but not unbearable. I've had a bit of bruising but nothing horrific. I'm also on 5mg folic too. I hope this is your magic combo for your protocol x

Hi Gemma - unfortunately I have to work through the TWW but I've promised myself to not stress out and to take a little bit of a back seat - easier said than done as a self confessed control freak!
Hopefully your stims are going well? Stims is a new world to me as I've only used donated eggs so I have no idea what you guys have to go through x

Hi all hope you are all well… not had the best nights sleep just over thinking honestly I will not cope if I am ectopic, I was saying to my husband last night this situation is something that you goggle and think nah this ain’t true!! The sonography said he couldn’t see any fluid to suggest ectopic and thinks I am just 4 weeks . I’m just going to have to wait it out. Yes I have pregnancy symptoms so I’m taking that as a positive x

I’m between scans today so hopefully Friday I’ll get a date for egg retrieval. My right ovary seemed very quiet at the scan today but left ovary looked promising. Has anyone had a similar outcome?
How is everyone feeling?

Hi Tired-teacher, Yes when I was on my fresh cycle my right was quiter then my left ovary as well. After my 2nd scan they decided to move my egg retrieval a couple of days so I had extra time for the growth. I was disappointed when they went off plan but its amazing what an extra couple of days does. At egg retrieval they collected 10 out of 12 eggs.

Started spotting today was brown now looking red I’m lay in bed stressed out! Why would this happen just to be tragic … if bleeding heavy in morning I will go epau I really don’t want to it’s the worst ward at the hospital.

Hi guys, hope you’re all doing well. I had my egg collection on Monday, still bloated and a little uncomfortable but getting there. We got 20 eggs and 17 fertilised.
The clinic are keeping an eye on my symptoms for possible OHSS as they may cancel my fresh transfer this weekend and opt for a freeze all.
Have any of you had a fresh transfer after collecting 20+ eggs? Just wondering how risky it is if I have very mild OHSS symptoms.

Stims all ok so far thank you, starting to get a bit sore. I have my scan tomorrow to see how it’s going. I happened to have a scan at the hospital today though for something else, and she told me one follicle is 2.4mm, so I’m worried that one will now over mature before collection … oh the things we worry about!

@Tired-Teacher81 - yes my left seems dominant too.

@Hannah-Sian - i don’t know about the risks of hyper stimulation and I’m sure you’ll be very frustrated if you have to wait for a FET, but those are some great numbers, I’m so pleased you got so many fertilised Any update yet?

@poppy rose - I can’t imagine how you must be feeling. I am keeping everything crossed for you that it sticks in there.

Scan shows sac no heartbeat as yet as only 5 weeks so just need to hold out 10 days for next scan.

I ask the consultant how the hell has this happened with extensive tubal damage one is stuck to my abdominal wall !! He just said miracle x

Hey all - only one more day to the weekend! This week has been at least a month long so far!
@poppy - wow those HCG's are fab! Fingers and toes crossed for the next 10 days. It shows us all that miracles can and do happen!

@gemma - hopefully you're getting on ok with your STIMS. I never had to experience that luckily. Fingers crossed you've lots of follies waiting for you at next scan.

@hannah - wow 17 fertilised eggs is fantastic! Hopefully you get to have your fresh transfer and it's not postponed.

@tired - your retrieval is tomorrow right? I have everything crossed for your left ovary that there's lots of juicy eggs in there.

@russelg and MB - how are you guys getting on? Time is definitely ticking, it will be August in no time. I bet you'll be cycling together!

I'm 9dp6dt and loving being in my wee PUPO bubble. I have resisted testing early, out of respect to my DH as he is adamant we wait but also out of a wee bit of fear. Its all out of my hands now. Inhixa injections have left me with a very bruised belly and they're beginning to hurt like hell - I'm also bloated to the size of 20 weeks gestation!!! I so hope this is our cycle but it's anyone's guess really. Still feeling a bit crappy but I think I'm also coming down with a bit of a cold. Realised yesterday that I will run out of Inhixa on Monday but test date is Saturday and if it's negative I won't need them but if it's positive I may have trouble getting them so I've been in a bit of a panic today. DH to the rescue and he's got it all sorted now so a bit more grounded again thankfully! Roll on the weekend guys!!xx

Thanks for your responses, I feel loads better today, bloating is gradually reducing, I can eat full meals and the discomfort has eased off. As long as I still feel good tomorrow then we should be good to go ahead with transfer on Saturday, the nurses are going to give me a call and check in on all my symptoms tomorrow to make sure they’re happy to go ahead

@leezo - cannot wait to be in that PUPO bubble myself after this weekend if all goes well! Wishing you all the luck

Had my 2nd scan today - right ovary still not doing anything which has left me feeling a bit disheartened. Booked for egg collection on Monday. I know it o my takes one egg but since I’m 40 and egg quality declines, I’m concerned there won’t be many to choose from.
Never mind - nothing I can do now but felt a bit down about it.
Poppy rose - hope the 10 days pass quickly for you and that it’s good news

We are all go for transfer tomorrow as nurses aren’t concerned about my symptoms (mainly just bloating now.) I’m on Cyclogest twice a day, which is giving me some unpleasant side effects. Find out how many embryos have made it to day 5 in the morning as well.
