Patient Support Events at CARE

#1 Post by CARE Fertility Support » Fri Aug 14, 2020 3:23 pm

Undertaking any form of fertility treatment can be a daunting process. We understand that throughout your treatment here at CARE there may be things you would like to talk about with other people going through the fertility journey. With this in mind, we have a range of monthly patient support events which are accessible for all patients, regardless of your stage in the fertility journey.

To book onto any of these events or for more information, email Kelly, our 'CARE Patient Support Coordinator':

Online Support Meeting:

Here are the dates of our upcoming online support meetings:

Wednesday 6th April 2022 @ 7pm
Wednesday 4th May 2022 @ 7pm

Male- Focus Online Support Meeting

Whether you have a fertility problem or are the partner of someone having treatment, we consider everyone involved with fertility treatment at CARE as one of our patients, and therefore has access to all the support we offer. We understand that men can sometimes find it more difficult to open up about their fertility, but speaking with someone about your experiences, whether a counsellor or another patient, can help you to process your emotions and find support.

Here are the dates of our upcoming male-focus online support meetings:

Monday 28th March 2022 @ 7pm

CARE Walk 'n' Talk Events 11am - 1:30pm

Walk 'n' Talk Therapy provides a unique method of support. Instead of a formal therapy approach, these sessions are relaxed and informal, taking place whilst walking in the English countryside. This method is perfect if you want to incorporate exercise and fresh air whilst gaining support and connecting with others going through the IVF journey.

Sunday 27th March 2022 – Chatsworth House – 11am – 1.30pm

CARE Buddy Support:

What are the benefits of having a CARE Buddy?

CARE Buddy is an opportunity for you to both receive and offer support and advice to other CARE patients going through the fertility journey. It offers you:
* The opportunity to receive support and comfort that you are not alone in the journey you are undertaking.
* A chance to offer your own invaluable support to others based on your own experiences.
* A safe space in which to alleviate any potential anxieties and worries by sharing your story and hearing other patients’ fertility experiences.

“Thank you Care for going that extra mile to support us women on our infertility journeys. Being able to 'walk and talk' today with ladies in a similar position reminds me that I'm not alone. It has been a real pick me up and I'm looking forward to the next one already!”
"Having only recently found out that I would be preparing for IVF, I had a thousand questions buzzing through my head. Thanks to the CARE support group, the wonderful ladies I met on our Chatsworth walk completely reassured me with their anecdotes and advice and I left feeling like a weight had been lifted from my shoulders! Since then the group have been incredibly supportive and I can’t wait for our next outing!"
