April/May 2022 scans

#1 Post by Maia2221 » Fri Apr 29, 2022 2:54 pm

Just starting a group for anyone awaiting early pregnancy or 3-month scans around April/May ‘22. I’m finding this a tough phase but cautiously optimistic and excited 😊

How’s everyone else doing?

Hi Maia, I’ve got my 7 weeks scan 24th May. I agree, definitely a tough phase with so many mixed emotions ☺️

Hi Maia, I know we've been chatting on another group but thought it was easier to move over to here. I completely agree the waiting is hard work, I'm currently waiting for a date for my 12 week scan.
Congratulations Beb on your BFP, how are you feeling?

Hi Beb, hi Amy

Massive congratulations on your BFP Beb! Amazing news. It’s a very anxious wait until the 7 week scan but stay strong and I wish you all the best for it. How are you feeling? Hope the nausea / tiredness hasn’t kicked in yet. That hit me really hard at 6 weeks but slowly coming out of that now. Still, all positive signs!

And hey Amy! Glad you found this chat 😊 Have you got your 3 month scan date now? Mine is May 30th. And have a midwife appointment on Saturday. Feeling pretty anxious about it as it feels like there are so many decisions to make already and I’m still trying not to get my hopes up 100% until the 3 months but it’s so hard not to. I’ve already started telling people as I couldn’t hold it in 😂 Have you been thinking about birth plans yet? Hope the back ache is getting better!

Hi Beb, yes it felt like a very long and anxious wait until my 7 week scan but keep positive a lot of aches and twinges are good signs.

Hi Maia, that's fab that you've got a date for your 3 month scan. I'm still waiting for a date but have a midwife appointment next Wednesday so hopefully I'll find out more then. I'm being cautiously optimistic as I've got a bit of a past history but trying to enjoy each day and not worry too much. I haven't thought about any birth plans yet, feels abit scary thinking that far ahead. Have you had any thoughts? My backache has started to ease thanks, I'm glad to hear your nausea is easing off too.

Hi, my first time on here. So we have our 7 week scan on 16th. I'm nervous. Been here before! This time I seem to notice every slight ache in my stomach! Over thinking I think! How's everyone else doing

Hi Kelly, congratulations on your BFP! how are you feeling? I know it's easier said than done but try to relax and stay away from Mr Google. If only I could listen to my own advice 🤦‍♀️🤣

Hi everyone

Huge congrats on the BFP, Kelly! Really exciting. It’s an test wait for the 7 week scan but I guess all anyone can do is remember that there isn’t anything you can do and just to try stay away from Google and be kind to yourself. Wishing you all the best for it! How are you feeling?

@Beb, how are you getting on? Hope the wait isn’t too stressful and you’re not feeling too rough.

@Amy - how was your midwife appointment? I had mine Saturday and really liked the midwife. She relaxed me a lot and answered my many questions. It felt weird being asked about my birth plan as I’m trying not to think too far ahead. But at the same time, I’m a complete wuss for pain so just said I’ll probably want all pain relief available 😂 i just said it was a big no from me for home or natural birth haha. So much respect for women who can do that but that’s too scary for me. Tiredness is the real issue for me at the moment, really struggling at work. How about you?

Welcome RP, congratulations!!

Maia I'm glad you've met and like your midwife, my appointment today was by phone but will meet her on Sunday when I pick up my notes. I was asked about medical history etc but nothing about a birth plan, I wonder if that will be next time. I'm completely with you about the tiredness, by the end of work I'm exhausted! Still having the odd cramps/niggles in my groin but the other symptoms seem to be easing off. Are you still on the progesterone?

Kelly I'm sorry to hear about your previous miscarriage, I had a miscarriage last year and can completely understand how difficult it is not to overthink. Not to much longer to wait until your scan and hopefully you can begin to relax x

Thanks Amy. Scan is tomorrow. I'm really anxious tonight. Sickness has really kicked in last few days. Heartburn comes and goes. My boobs don't feel as sore and I'm worried about that? Anyone else had the same?

Hi Kelly, it seems to be normal for symptoms including sore boobs to come and go, try not to worry. I'll be thinking of you tomorrow and waiting to hear how the scan goes x

Hi Amy, had the scan. It's measuring smaller than expected. She found the heartbeat though so that's a good sign. I'm just a little anxious now with it measuring smaller.

Kelly that's great news that they found a heartbeat. I'm sorry you're feeling anxious about the measurements, are you booked for another scan? Try to remember they are measuring something very small, fingers crossed there was just an error in measuring x
