Re: Array cgh and PGS?
Hello, PGS is a generic term for genetic screening that looks for chromosomal abnormalities. Methods of testing include:
NGS (newest)
aCGH
FISH (oldest)
You would have to ask your clinic which test method they use. Here's a scientific article comparing NGS and aCGH. This particular paper finds that NGS is the preferred method.

Note that there is also PGD which is a term for genetic screening that looks for particular "bad things" like fatal diseases. But unless you are a known carrier for a disease, you would do PGS. PGS can detect monosomies or trisomies in otherwise good-looking embryos, and which would cause miscarriage or failure to implant.
Just the usual caution that am not a doctor
but I did a lot of research on PGS when we started IVF because I had a miscarriage recently due to blighted ovum which can be caused by chromosomal abnormality. I decided to do PGS because I am older (37) so at higher risk and I don't want to go through another miscarriage if I can help it.
Hope that helps

With array test, can we determine the sex of the baby?
