Hi ladies,

Thanks for you messages sadly not long after I posted my message I had the call that is everyone’s worst nightmare to say my screening on Tuesday had gone to the lab and has come back high risk for patau syndrome and downs. I’ve been in bits. The hospital were great and had me straight back in this afternoon to have the extensive and 99% accurate nipt and harmony test. I got a chance to speak to the specialist midwife who was really supportive and actually managed to give some reassurance that so many older mums get flagged as high risk but come out fine on the much more accurate nipt test but there’s no guarantees until those results come back which can be anywhere from 5-14 days depending how busy they are. So now it’s a keep busy and wait.may be a bit quiet on her until I know as I’m sure you can imagine but will be reading every so often.

Oh flash we are all thinking of you. I hope the nipt comes back quickly and you don’t have to endure this awful wait for long. I know that NHS calls anything above 1 in 150 chance high risk, which in real life still is very unlikely to have the condition. We all have our fingers crossed for you.

Yesterday was my first day off of the meds and I thought I’d be feeling all fancy free but I’ve had terrible moods since. My MIL and FIL really upset me last night and I’m not sure if it’s just the hormone change. I’m super sensitive. Anyone experience this? I can’t find anything online so thinking I might just be a hormone monster!

Sorry, I’ve not been on here I’ve had on and off very light pink bleeding and suspected urine infection again. Feeling very tired and deflated, especially on days where I don’t have any pregnancy symptoms. Since last week I’ve had heavier bleeding dark red/Maroon. I called my doctor as I was 10+6 and was told epu don’t have any scan slot until next Thursday! The doctor called me in to check me has given me a sick note to rest until my appointment. The bleeding settled to very light pink show and now back this evening …. I’m so worried. Did anyone else have issues getting into epu?

Lou89 how are you feeling now, meds can have that affect or just normal pregnancy hormones with so much is happening and changing inside. Don’t be hard on yourself. I’m counting down 6 more days and then I’m 12 weeks and can’t start on stopping my meds apart from the ones I have extras due to ordering packs of meds oppose to individual units you need to 12 weeks. For now I hope everything is going well despite my bleed , I might try calling my doctors again tomorrow

Keeping everything crossed for you lovely. I had some light bleeding early one like week 5/6 but nothing since and I know how terrifying it is. I had convinced myself it was all over. In terms of epu I haven’t had to use them this pregnancy thankfully, but didn’t have the best experience from our last pregnancy when we had a MMC. I’d keep ringing the docs and see if they can’t get you in. I assumed if you were bleeding they got you in for an emergency scan? Good luck. I’ll be thinking of you. Keep doing what you’re doing with resting and hopefully it’s a uti or a hematomia. You’ve got this mama.

Thank you, for your reassuring and kind words. I’ve called the doctors again this morning waiting for a call back. I provided a urine sample on Friday I’m hoping the results will be back.

It’s worrying and I’m trying to keep busy watching Netflix whilst resting and not to worry to much. I keep reassuring myself it’s very light and not heavy - and I’m not experiencing any cramps.

I hope your spirits lift soon and feel yourself. Im terrible with remembering ……your a week ahead of me - have you had your 12 week scan or is it due soon xx

Is a private scan an option?

Hi, it is very scary the last time I had bleeding we mc. For my DD time I dint recall having any bleeding within 12 weeks, only late pregnancy when I had low lying placenta and had to stay in hospital.

I’ve not thought of private scan. I’ll look into it now - thanks for the suggestion xx

You got this! Private scan might be a good shout. Just get seen anyway you can so you can hopefully relax. Our 12 week scan is tomorrow afternoon. We are currently 12+2. Try and watch funny things. I find that helps! Xx

KG I hope you have managed to get a private scan. When I went for my private gender scan they had got someone in after me same day of calling as she was worried about baby, so hopefully you are able to get something quickly just to ease your mind.

Lou I can’t believe your 12 week scan is tomorrow! How exciting! I had a really hard time sitting waiting to go in but mentioned to the lady doing the scan what had happened last time and she told me right away that everything looked ok. This time tomorrow it will all be done with and you’ll be looking at your baby picture
Also I was SO moody the first trimester and cried at the drop of a hat. Still cry at nothing sometimes but am a bit less moody now if that helps x

I managed to find scan place local but they don’t have any availability until Wednesday evening. Ive been resting and the bleeding has settled. It stops and then starts again, it’s not heavy! My scan is first thing Thursday morning and DH is saying we should wait until my appointment at epu which is at 9:15am. I praying everything is ok with the baby. Luckily I’m not getting any cramps, that’s a good sign.

I’ve been reading online and some people say they get a some bleeding at the time if their monthly cycle. Has anyone heard of this or experienced this? I think I would be my cycle now. It was messed up and came late when I was started my frozen cycle after I had my endometrium scratched xx

I’ve not, but I know when I was cycling in June/July one lady spotted throughout her pregnancy and baby was absolutely fine. I know it’s hard but if you are going to wait until Thursday try and relax as much as you can. When I was spotting early on my clinic told me to take it easy so keep doing that. Keeping everything crossed all is ok for you and thank you for thinking of me when you are going through your own stuff. It means a lot xx

She said everything looks fine for now and they will call within 3 days if anything comes up in the blood work. Didn’t get the best photo but we got to see baby again today and that’s incredible

Ahh that’s great! My baby was sitting up at the 12 week scan and refused to lie down!! Jiggled about a bit but the sonographer said it was fine. I got a pretty bad pic too!

Congratulations!! My photos were not good either, the man who did the scan didn't even charge me for them as they were so bad haha!
