Re: Summer sunshines 2022!!
Thanks so much all
I’m relieved. Just hoping I don’t hear anything from them in the next three days!
Also good to hear our baby isn’t the only one that didn’t play nicely for the sonographer and you guys didn’t get perfect pics either! Makes it all feel a bit more normal xx
Re: Summer sunshines 2022!!
Aw that’s great Lou! Yeah I don’t think many babies play ball at the 12 week scan. Ours was quite well behaved this time but my daughter just wouldn’t lie the right way and they couldn’t measure the nuchal translucency at all, we had to get a private scan the next week to do the screening in the end! Did they manage to measure baby’s neck with you in the end? X

Re: Summer sunshines 2022!!
Yeah they did and the nuchal translucency was 1.35 so within the low risk range I believe from what I’ve read online. Is that right Pigletina? We then got a call from our GP tonight sending his condolences for our second miscarriage. My heart stopped for a minute I’m sure. Turns out the hospital sent my last scan report from September last year again instead of the new one! I almost threw up! They booked us for our 20 week scan so it must all be ok! Wow, not what you need!!! Thank you Leanne! Our GP said he was mortified and just kept apologising. Even though we had been at the scan when a doctor calls you, you question what you know so for a second I was like really?!

Re: Summer sunshines 2022!!
That’s fantastic news…. Congratulations. A piece if mind now the scan is done and everything looks ok. You saw your baby today. Hopefully everything will be ok with the bloods too x
Can I ask if they only did the blood test for syndrome or for check sugar levels too?

Oh my god I can’t believe that happened to you! I probably would have fainted! I bet the doctor feels terrible. What a thing to go through. Thank god it is very different this time and you have a little wriggler happy in your tumLou89 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 08, 2022 9:35 pmYeah they did and the nuchal translucency was 1.35 so within the low risk range I believe from what I’ve read online. Re: Summer sunshines 2022!!
KG, as far as I could tell just the syndromes and I wished I had eaten chocolate on the way because baby wouldn’t move enough and her keep tapping and prodding to try and get the measurements wasn’t the best! I felt sorry for the baby! Haha xx
Pigletina I know right! What a scare but like you say, thankfully all good this time round and we are so much further along. I often have to pinch myself! 🥰 xx

Re: Summer sunshines 2022!!
Morning everyone,
I hope your all keeping well. My bleeding has stopped, which is a relief! Resting definitely has helped. I'm looking forward to my check up tomorrow morning to see if thing are still progressing ok for us.
On a separate note, is anyone under consultant care during their pregnancy? I was wondering when you had your first appointment with the consultant and what was involved in the appointment.
I was told I'd receive an appointment to see my consultant and not received anything as yet, I will be 12 weeks on Saturday.
Generally question does everyone has a significant bump now? And for the ladies who are due June/July are you feeling baby movements yet?

Re: Summer sunshines 2022!!
Thank you Lou - I have a bump already but i did feel congested with wind and constipated with the pessaries and lubion injection. Tbh I've always has a bit of a stomach so probably had a head start
. I've also gained 2kg since getting pregnant! Hopefully once i get past this trimester i will start walking to help the gstation diabetes and help keep the weight down. I'm not being vain, i don't want too much weight as that affects diabetes. I'm doing very little steps and movement at the moment.
How do you feel now you stopped all the ivf drugs? I remember you were nervous. Are you less gassy.....only reason I ask is i am exactly the same

Re: Summer sunshines 2022!!
I know what you mean my job is desk based so I really have to make an effort to get steps in. I walk the for a couple of times a day and if my work schedule allows I try and do a third but all other exercise I stopped during stims, then haven’t started again because I’m too scared of doing anything that might jeopardise the pregnancy!kg44 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 09, 2022 1:29 pm Thank you Lou - I have a bump already but i did feel congested with wind and constipated with the pessaries and lubion injection. I’ve had no spotting since coming off or the drugs and I was moody for the first few days. The weirdest thing about my gassy bowel as they kept telling me was I was still regular and didn’t feel like I had trapped wind of any kind. I think it’s still a bit like it but they could see the baby through my tummy this time so it must be working itself out! I was on loads of progesterone so hopefully all will be fine for you too 🥰

Saw consultant after 12 week scan and he said because my son was under 3kg at birth I’ll have regular growth scans after 30 weeks.. which I’m not complaining about.!
I do have a bump but I’m 17 weeks today. Been feeling movement for couple weeks now but he is my third and u do feel baby earlier if you’ve already had a baby x

Re: Summer sunshines 2022!!
Hi ladies,
Really pleased the bleeding has stopped. I get really emotional about it, it really does feel like we are on this journey together.
I am 15 weeks today and have a small bump. Got quite a few looks in the office yesterday (first time back since before Christmas) buy nobody said anything!
I am surprised at how tired I still am! Xx

Re: Summer sunshines 2022!!
I’m tired too, I keep reading that in the second trimester you are supposed to suddenly be full of energy but that definitely hasn’t happened with me!
We had our consultant appointment at almost 15 weeks but that felt rather late. Got prescribed aspirin as IVF pregnancies are considered by some consultants as high risk for preeclampsia. Also going to have regular growth scans later on, unsure if that is just because of IVF or also because my daughter was low birth weight.
I feel like I have a quite big bump this time, especially for me as I was quite slim and was tiny with my daughter. This time my stomach muscles gave up early on and my belly button had popped out by about 10 weeks. Not sure my abs came back together after the last pregnancy very well anyway and so the gap has got quite big already this time.

Re: Summer sunshines 2022!!
Thank you everyone for your messages.
Unfortunately today didn’t go well for us and we were told there wasn’t a heartbeat and we’ve had a delayed/silent miscarriage.
We are still in shock, numb and upset… lots of different emotions. I need to think about how we want to proceed with removing the sac. Im heart broken and still coming terns with what’s happened. Despite the spotting there weren’t any cramps, and deep down although I was anxious I convinced myself everything was ok because I wanted it to be ok.
Going to take time to come to terms with what’s happened, and although we are lucky and blessed to have beautiful DD, I’m total devasted at this minute in time.
Thank you for all your support and hope all your journeys continue

There are no words that could comfort you at this awfully sad time and I am so unbelievably sorry that this has happened to you and your family. I had a MMC last year, so I really can relate. Please take your time to process what is happening. We had counselling through the clinic and I would really recommend it. If you want any info about ours then please feel free to message me and I’ll do my best to support. I am truly devastated for you.kg44 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 10, 2022 1:08 pm Thank you everyone for your messages.

I am so very sorry to hear this Kg, I had a MMC in December 2020 and it was such a difficult time. Make sure you take time to heal, both physically and emotionally, sending lots of love and hugs during what must be a horrid time. Will be thinking of you xxkg44 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 10, 2022 1:08 pm Thank you everyone for your messages.

Re: Summer sunshines 2022!!
As for us…
We had a late afternoon phone call from the hospital to say that our nipt dna blood screening - much more accurate 99% - has shown that we are low risk for all three syndromes

. it seems being over 40 sent the computer algorithm used with bloods and measurements on the basic combined screening into high risk. I’ve since found out that some people refuse the combined basic screening and just pay for nipt or harmony to avoid the inaccurate high risk result
if only I’d known!
So we are delighted and now just recovering from the past week
It still says it’s screening and there’s no guarantees but that’s the same for any pregnancy ans I’ll take 99% accurate
