All good over here Tazzy, how are you?
Have been feeling baby move around a lot this past week or 2, my husband even managed to feel a little kick and some wriggling! My 20 week scan is a week today, nervous but excited too.
Hope everyone else is doing ok! x

Hi all, thank you so much for your lovely words and thoughts. I am so relieved to say everything seems to be good with baby! Our NIPT results all came back low risk and today we had a private scan and everything looks amazing I’m feeling so grateful and just need to remind myself to enjoy the pregnancy now.

Lovely to hear you’re all doing well. Sending lots of virtual hugs to you all ♥️♥️♥️

Oh Lou I can’t tell you how relieved I am. I’ve been coming on and checking 2/3 times a day. So thrilled!! It took me a good few days to recover from that week of anxiety so be kind on yourself.

I’m going to book us a private scan to see how things are as a midway point between 12-20 weeks as I’m 16 weeks on Friday but also to find out the baby’s gender🎉 I was a bit confused as they say from 15 was you can find out but everything I’ve read online says from 16 weeks 🤷‍♀️ Hoping for a girl but ultimately just a healthy happy baby is all I need especially after our experiences!

Take a few days to breathe, remind yourself that all
Is okay and settle back into enjoying the pregnancy. #thrilled! Sending love and hugs ❤️

Thank you so much. Yes, I am taking it easy as I’ve not been feeling great. Think it’s been the build up of all the worry. They asked us yesterday if we wanted to know the sex but we said no and when we got in there baby was crossed legged anyway haha they also had one arm resting under their chin, like the thinker pose! So CUTE! 😂

I think 16 weeks is standard here although from what I’ve read online they do it from the 12 week in America but the later you wait the more accurate. Can’t wait to find out what you’re having. As we are waiting, I enjoy living vicariously through everyone else haha xx

Re: Summer sunshines 2022!!

Oh Lou thank goodness! Been checking everyday since Friday in case you had any news.
So relieved to hear and glad you are doing well. Give yourself some time to chill now and enjoy your pregnancy.

Flash my private scan was at 16 weeks and they were able to clearly see the gender. I did have to wiggle around a bit to get her to comply though lol. They told me to have a sugary drink before to make her move more but I think because I don’t usually drink things like full fat coke, she was a bit in shock and had curled in a little ball lol!

Has anyone got any good book recommendations?
I’ve got The day by day Pregnancy one which is fab. Love reading a page each day.
Also have First Time Parent by Lucy Atkins which is super informative. Feel like I need something else about when baby is actually here! x

I got given loads in my first pregnancy and barely h go it through any of them and just used the app. When the baby was here though we swore by a book called ‘Your baby week by week’ by Dr Caroline Fertleman and Simone cave. It was basically the bible thaf guided us through having and newborn and what to do, expect and look out for. It’s also only a few pages specific for each week so even with a newborn you can find time to read it knowing everything is exactly relevant for that time- it’s on Amazon - can’t recommend it enough.

We have that book from last time too - it was great! We also had a hypnobirthing one - we were planning to do that and a water birth - all of which went out of the window extremely quickly when I went into labour as had quite a lot of problems and ended up with all the drugs and an emergency CS! If all goes well with this one we will be going for a scheduled CS this time, as still a bit traumatised from last birth so I think the hypnobirthing book is well and truly retired. But I would have loved to have done it if I had been able to.

I did the online hypnobirthing course only to have three failed inductions and a failed waters breaking and after three days they determined my DS was only coming out by CS so we had an unplanned but not emergency one. We will be going straight for the elective CS.

Re: Summer sunshines 2022!!

All was well thank you ladies and the baby was boxing and drinking on the screen (hoping this isn’t what’s to come!) For us it’s another boy - so thankful that he’s healthy but if I’m honest there is a tinge of disappointment as this has to be my last pregnancy as I’ll be 43 by the time the baby is born and I’d always envisaged having a girl as I’m a very girlie girl myself and that’s why we had the scan so that I could adjust my mindset before the baby comes as I only want to feel all the right feelings when he arrives. I feel so guilty even admitting it but it’s the honest truth. So still so thankful for him but at the same time just dealing with a change of life and future dreams and plans and expectations. But already enjoying now thinking of boys names ❤️ I hope this doesn’t sound awful 🙇‍♀️
