Further tests

Hi all,
Has anyone had a successful cycle after undergoing ERA, EMMA and ALICE tests? What positives/negatives have you experienced? Thanks

Re: Further tests

Hey Anna,

Thought I'd jump on your post as I've just had my 3rd emma and Alice test results and once again the results are pretty grim.

We're now wondering whether to just start treatment regardless of the test results..

Have you had the biopsy yet?

Hi, Thanks for replying. I am finding this forum not as active as I was hoping it would be.

I was given provisional dates yesterday, with a biopsy scheduled for the 25th January 2024.

Can you tell me why you had to have it done 3 times and what did the results come back with each time? Do you have to take certain medication in between the biopsies?
Thanks

Re: Further tests

Hey Anna,

So sorry for the late reply. I don't seem to get notifications.

Hope your biopsy went well and the results came back okay.
Each time my lactobacillus came back 0% so I had 3 types of anti biotics.
We decided not to have another biopsy and jump straight into a cycle regardless of the results and it's our final attempt.
Due for collection possibly Friday, depending on my scan tomorrow.

Re: Further tests

Hi, How did you collection go? Did they find the optimum implantation window for you after the biopsy?

We have an appointment to go through the results tomorrow. I am hoping they will have useful information for us.

Re: Further tests

Hey Anna,

Yeah collection was good, we had 2 grade 2:2's and had them transfered on Saturday so I'm the gruelling 2ww now. We have a frosty too 😊

Yeah we found my optimal implantation window was the same as the biopsy time frame so no changes were made.
It was my lactobacillus was always at 0% regardless of anti biotics between each biopsy. We had 3 altogether and the result never changed so that's why we decided to just go for it.

I hope your results contain the answers you hoped for. Infertility is such a hard thing to go through.
Hope you're otherwise well though xxxx

Re: Further tests

Hi, that's great. Good luck :) I find that keeping busy during the 2 ww is helping me not think about it too much. But it is still difficult.
my results showed that my implantation window is actually 25hrs later!! so for the next one, I will need to be on the medication for an extra day! I am feeling positive now. the next one might be the one :)
let me know how you get on.

Re: Further tests

Ah that's great news!
So glad you got the answers you were hoping for!

Thanks, I'm slowly going insane but work is really busy at the moment so that is helping me keep my mind away from testing early🤣

Re: Further tests

Hey Anna,

My test date is this Friday!!

I feel dreadful at the moment. I'm not sure if I'm coming down with something or they're actual symptoms, haha.

How are you doing?

When are you starting your next cycle? Xxx

Re: Further tests

Hi Cherrie87,

That might be a good sign!!! and not long left now :)

Hopefully end of March/April time. I need further blood tests for Vitamin D (I am on a loading dose atm), thyroid function, and full blood count. Once they are happy witht he results from those, we can start.

Re: Further tests

It's frustrating sometimes isn't it, this whole IVF process is just one long wait after another.

Have you had any immunology tests done? I'm having to take 20mg prednisolone and inhixa injections daily aswell as IV intralipids for immunity.

Re: Further tests

no, at least I don't remember. I have had so many tests done over the past 4 years and I forget what some of them were. What do these involve?
I received all of my medication for the next FET. I am waiting to hear back about start dates.
How are you doing?

Re: Further tests

They're usually done if recurrent miscarriage or recurrent implantation occur. They're expensive if your self funded and not sure if they're available if your NHS funded or not.

Aww it's getting closer for you now..

I'm doing okay, we got a BFP 😁 currently 5+2 so still early days but I have a scan booked for the 19th and honestly that can't come quick enough. Xx
