2 Week wait

Hi,

This is my second round and i had my transfer on the 22nd May so 2 WW has started, is anyone in there 2 WW?

I have found the second round a lot easier than the first one, the first one i felt a whole of emotions i think this is mainly as i didn't know what to expect. When it was time for my scan i had a bit of disappointment as i only had 2 follicles, luckily they were both eggs however only one fertilized, it made it to a Morula and i had a transfer in Feb however this was unsuccessful, i went straight in for a second round, my meds were changed and they offered me a early scan, i have 5 eggs this time, two fertilized and only one became a blastocyst i had it transferred on the 22nd May and im waiting now, I haven't really felt anything but i do have a bit in pain in my belly. Does anyone have any advice on what to do within the 2WW to help out ive been on pineapple juice and been resting im hoping this time it works and would like to speak to people that are in the same 2WW

Congrats on your transfer. Cramps are always a positive sign. I had my transfer back in April and unfortunately it failed. I was drinking beetroot and pomegranate Juice . Do not know about pineapple juice. Two week wait is horrible i had few days off work and kept myself busy and was actually glad i went back to work for the remaining days.

I hope someone else jumps onto this group who is on there 2WW as it does help to message each other. Good luck for your test date.

Thank you for your reply an i am so sorry it didn't work, i had one in Feb and that didn't work i am really nervous this time does feel a lot different. My first time it only developed into a morula however this time it made it to blastocyst stage so i am hoping for the best thank you for your advice, are you planning o do another round? I don't want to give up now and just keep praying it will work, on my last one i had hot sweats and was convinced it worked and then a few days before my best day i started spotting and then it just got heavier and heavier, this time i have had no spotting again and no hot sweats but i have had cramps so I'm just trying to stay positive. I would like to wish you good luck and hopefully we will get good news eventually xx

We decided to try one last time will be doing the full cycle again. IVF is full of rollercoaster. That a great attitude to have not to give up and pray that it all works out. Cramps are always a good sign fingers crossed for you. How long have you got until test day? Are you thinking of testing early?

That's brilliant news fingers crossed for you i am testing on the 4th June so a week on Tues i have been really lucy both time to get as far as i have as first round i only had 2 follicles which were 2 eggs and one fertilized this time i had 5 and 2 fertilized so it was better, they changed my meds and gave me an early scan to put my mind at ease and the test is a day earlier i would love to test early but im scared as it may not be correct outcome i tested early on my first round as i kind of knew it hadn't worked ill try and stick to my test date unless i feel like i really need to. When are you thinking to try again? are you going to try straight away or give yourself time? i went straight away as i am 36 and with the low eggs i feel like im getting old and need to try as much as i can now its been a roller coaster since Jan for me that's when my tablets started on the first round.xx

How you doing today?
Yeah i know what you mean about testing early i did that last time tested few days early and its was negative. I had convinced myself it had not worked did a test on test day and it was positive but ended up in miscarriage.
I have a follow up next week see what care say but i think i would like to give my body a break for couple of months get all the medicine out and then start. Im 39 and feel the same. The whole process in mentally draining and financially so expensive too.

Heyyy the pains have kind of died of a bit today but still there, still not spotting one week until test day and aww I’m so sorry hopefully next time will be better for you it really is emotionally and mentally draining it’s hard to try and forget when you know what’s going on isn’t it I wish you all the luck hopefully everything will work out for the both of us.xx
Did you have any bleeding or pains on your last one?

I know what you means very hard to switch off wen you know there little embryo inside you and all you want is for it to stick. Are you working to keep busy?

i never had spotting. My last one i had cramps, sore boobs, light head second week on wards. Strange thing i had was leg pain really uncomfortable pain in my legs never experienced that before.

It really is I’m on the NHS with this cycle and I asked if I could pay for the glue but I wasn’t allowed not sure if that would make much diffennce but as it didn’t stick on my last one I wanted to do everything on this one.

I am trying to be as hopeful as I can be, I am planning to do another round if this doesn’t work out but think I’ll also give it a few months to take some me time and maybe have a little holiday so I can relax and not stress and hopefully go into it a bit diffent however, there is still time and you have made me feel a bit better knowing you didn’t have any spotting as that has been bothering me a little. I am working so that is keeping me busy it’s just hard to concentrate at the minute feel like my heads all over. Which clinic are you with? I’m in Manchester xx

Please don't apologise ask what ever question you like. Funny you mentioned glue. My first cycle with care where i got a positive i did not use glue was not given the option. Second frozen transfer we got the embryo tested and we use the glue and it was negative. Its one of those does it or does not work. Carry on thinking positive i was told by my consultant to keep a good mood as it does help. I told my self i will deal with the results as and when it happens as i wont to give it my all. I am with birmingham.

Im surprised they did not let you pay for the glue.

Thank you sooo much and I know as it’s an add on as nhs patient I wasn’t allowed to pay for it but like you say if it’s gonna happen it’s gonna happen I’m a true believer everything happens for a reason and when the time is right it will and that’s mad that you was positive without it and negative with it my benefit this is I think is because it got to blastocsyst stage I’m trying to stay in a good mood and it’s helpful to speak to others going through the same as other people don’t really understand! Your totally right fertility is hard to discuss with people that don't understand it. People asking how come you not got kids?have you got yourself checked? These questions are so painful for someone that is going through fertility. I had 2 rounds with NHS one was funded the other i had to pay for. I didn't realise you were able to get the funding through care.

It really is hard to speak to people that don’t know anything about it and I was funded by the NHS not care sorry for any confusion there think it works different depending on you area. And thanks again I also have my fingers crossed for you for when you go ahead again.

It really is, i was hoping for the best i am going to have a break now and maybe try naturally again for a while if it doesn't work with IVF twice i have given up hope maybe in a years time i may try again! I hope everything works our for you and thank you for your support it means so much i just feel like i never got many eggs on both cycles and its a lot to deal with i need some me time now.
