Thank you. It’s this coming Thursday. Today was day 11. I had been feeling ok the last few days but I have had quite a busy weekend after not being at work last week and tonight I have been getting some twinges and I’m feeling anxious about going back to work. I know relaxing doesn’t actually make any difference but I felt like I needed to really focus on me for the first week and a bit to make sure I gave it my best shot x

Got our official positive today and found out my beta was 800 on day 13. Sadly there was a mess up with the at home kit I ordered to do today so it didn’t arrive and I’ve come down with a bug and been really ill since 2am this morning. Tricky day!

Hi, how are you? Have you rearranged your meeting?
I’m ok thanks. Had a difficult day Saturday mentally but been feeling bit better the last few days. Just had my Hcg blood test at care so should have results back tomorrow and then will be able to compare to my one last week to see how things are going. I got a 3+ on a clear blue digital this morning which has helped me a bit as I didn’t get that at this point last time. Just trying to get through one day at a time x

Ahh that 3+ is so reassuring isn’t it? Hope your test results offer some reassurance too. Just keep doing whatever you need to do gain some reassurance. I ended up having a scan every week from 7 to 12 weeks…

Yes rearranged them for Monday so I’m hoping a plan might make me feel a bit better. I wish I could just get going even though I’m breastfeeding. I think I’m going to have to just go cold turkey with it as there’s no sign of stopping…

It does complicate things with breastfeeding doesn’t it. Would be helpful if it didn’t matter. I was lucky as I got mastitis and it was so painful to feed that I did it as little as possible and little one just wasn’t bothered and it just worked for us in the end.

Well I’ve had a tricky day. The nurse yesterday said they would ring me as soon as possible … 3.10 and my levels haven’t doubled every 48 hours. They have gone up 75% every 48 hours which on some things you read is ok so now I have to wait for the results of my test tomorrow which will probably not be until 3pm on Thursday. I wanted the test as I thought it would either show things really weren’t going well or were on track but instead I’m just in limbo waiting again xx

The Beta testing is a tricky one because some say every 2-3 days too don’t they? I’m sure it’s not an exact science either… super stressful. I’d take that 3+ test as reassuring for sure.

Hope your results come in quick for you tomorrow and you’re not waiting around. Do you have a scan date?

Hope you are ok. Things aren’t looking great here. Our doubling decreased again to 44%. Out consultant said it’s still possible to be ok but the statistics aren’t on our side especially as the doubling seems to be slowing rapidly and earlier than would be expected (as we haven’t reached 6000 yet). Anyway she said no more tests and to wait until scan which has been brought forward to this Thursday. There have been lots of tears and now I’m sort of resigned to it all. We have a big family weekend away next weekend which is going to make it tough too but we shall see what happens xx

Ohhh Applecart I’m sorry it’s not reassuring for you. Not what I expecting to read at all. Really hoping the scan shows something different for you on Thursday but I totally understand tears and preparing yourself for the worst. Hope you’re being kind to yourself.

I’ve had my scan and consult today. It was a lot being back at the clinic. My follicle count has decreased which is confronting. Just really feeling the pressure to get going now.

Well we saw a little baby measuring 7 weeks 1 day today and a heartbeat. Oh it’s an emotional rollercoaster. I have read a lot of similar stories where people have had a few good scans and then a miscarriage so I’m not getting ahead of myself. I’m trying to tell myself that today things are as they should be and that’s the best it can be.

Sorry to hear it was a lot being at the clinic. I know the feeling you mean. I can imagine hearing that about your follicles has made you wonder about time frames. When would you start again ideally?

This is great. What a rollercoaster though! Are you going to book in for another scan?

It’s going to be a ride over the next few weeks. Do whatever you need to do to get through it. One day at a time is a great approach.

We will hopefully transfer in June. My consultant has said the breastfeeding shouldn’t be an issue if I’ve not managed to completely stop so that’s a relief.

Great news about the stopping breastfeeding pressure being off! That’s helpful.

The nurses at our first scan kindly said they wanted to see me again this week rather than just discharge me so we had another scan on Weds. baby was measuring 8 weeks 1 day so has gained another 2 days on top of what we would have hoped for. Like I explained before I have read lots about good scans at 8 weeks and then not making it out of the first trimester so not getting hopes up too much. Just hoping everything carries on ok xx

I'm surviving. Had a scan at 8+4 and all was ok still. It's been just over a week since then so of course I have convinced myself a hundred times something is wrong. We have a midwife appt on Monday.

Do you have any more appointments coming up or will it just be starting your round when you are ready? x

You’re doing really well. How are you this week? How was the midwife appt?

I’ve got pre treatment bloods end of April and then all being well, care should get my protocol together and ready for my next cycle. Just hoping a holiday we’re on at the end of May doesn’t collide with the start of a cycle, but it’s looking like it might. It might not be a problem if I’ve got the meds ready to go.

My boy has just turned 1 and he's still 99th percentile for height. Hes in 2yr old clothes! We've also moved to Lisbon He's such a lovely little guy, always happy and smiley. It's been exhausting but we've done well.

Had the official letter from care about paying for my remaining 2 embryos in storage. £400 a year is absolutely shocking. I was thinking about donating them to a couple but that doesn't appear to be an option (no doubt because we're not spring chickens in our 20s). The only options are to donate them for research or for training and I don't really like the idea of them being messed about with as they're still alive at the end of the day. Like what will they do with them? It feels wrong to me but so does just throwing them in the bin. Argh! I've also not totally dismissed the idea of trying for one more atm.

We are starting to think about when we would try for another and I’m hoping we can speak to the consultant early next year as our little one will be a year old by then (I can’t believe it!) and I’m so keen to get going again and hopefully give him a sibling! We have one embryo on ice but it was a slight mosaic when we had PGTA testing so I don’t want to risk it, which means we will also be doing another full round and paying. I’m also super nervous for this as the first egg collection will have been over 3 years prior.

Hello @kmor so good to hear from you! I can’t believe he will be one… time flies!

Ah we’re in a very similar position then. We’ve had our consultation - can’t remember if I’d said that in my last post and he’s recommended stronger stims protocol due to my age and only one of my ovary responded well on the first egg collection. He’s also suggested PGTA testing based on 4/5 transfers not being successful and one miscarriage so we’ve decided to go ahead with this in the hope that it gets us closer to a sibling without the heartbreak of all the transfers. What was your experience of PGTA testing? Did you think it contributed to your success?

I think I’ll be aiming to do egg collection Oct/Nov with transfers being next year if all goes well.

Well it's been forever! Hope you are all ok. I currently have my gorgeous 3 weeks old old daughter sleeping on me, Lily. Feeling very lucky. It was a rough pregnancy for me mentally, I still can't quite believe she's here now but we made it through. Hope you are all ok xxx
