Thanks MSS
I haven’t had a scratch. I was originally offered one about 10 years ago with my ex, both unknown fertility issues. I didn’t have it done because they couldn’t find a ‘problem’ and I also didn’t want to risk damage or infection and I don’t know how good it is for success.
10 years on I still wouldn’t have it because I don’t have a problem with my lining, it’s always thick enough and I’ve always suffered from really heavy periods. I’ve also carried 2 children full term and then had my little boy last year at 16 weeks so I know my body can do it when it wants…. The trouble is it doesn’t seem to want to now for whatever reason.
All 3 deliveries I’ve lost more blood than normal too so I think I have a good blood supply to my reproductive organs.
I’m afraid I can’t help with that at all or even suggest things I’ve tried etc.
Have you looked to see the HFEA traffic light colour to see if they recommend it? I’m not sure what colour it is. Have you asked your clinic to see if there’s any supplements or any foods you can try to boost it without resulting to medical procedures? X

I’ve also not had one and don’t know too much about them.
I do acupuncture/reflexology and the lady I see swears that the work she does helps to build up the lining. My lining has always been fine so I can’t say whether this is true/how much acupuncture helps. On the months where I’m not having treatment however I have noticed my cycle gets a couple of days longer than it had been. I’ve had 24 day cycles after my ectopic, pretty much for a whole year, and with acupuncture it’s gone to 26 days. I’m generally a sceptic on this stuff but I can’t deny the cycle length change.

Re: April/May 2025
Just had my day 10 scan and looks like I’m ready to trigger, they’ll confirm this afternoon. Does anyone know if you have one streaking ahead, I think 24 was the measurement, is it likely this ends up too big and is gone before collection? I don’t think I had one that was so far ahead last time.
Re: April/May 2025
Hi everyone,
I hope that you are all doing ok. It was nice to have some sunshine over the BH weekend.
I am finally feeling less dizzy and had a good weekend. Although we now all have a head cold! I am on day 7 after transfer now, the past week has gone really quickly which is nice. I had a day 5 transfer on Tuesday last week, and we did have another embryo that made it to day 5 but it wasnt suitable for freezing.
I actually did a test this morning as I previously tested positive on day 8 after transfer, and it was the faintest of positives. I have everything crossed that the line continues to get stronger. Can anyone recommend pregnancy tests that they use? I am conscious of using one that is too sensitive. I have Easy@Home strips.
Nevergiveup/Spring 22 - how are you doing?
MSS - I am so sorry your cycle was cancelled. I hope you are able to start again soon. I havent had the scratch either so cant share any insight, sorry.
NHawth7 - i hope you hear from them early afternoon! Good luck with the next stage. From my experience, each follicle grows at a different rate so that one may end up getting too big or it may not. I have had 4 egg collections and in 3 of them I had a large variation in sizes and one getting to 19/20 before the trigger but i dont know how that translates to the eggs collected as there were more follicles than eggs if that makes sense? They will collect from all follicles and, if you request, they will let you know that afternoon how many are mature. Do you have many other follicles growing? I have my fingers crossed for you.
Take care everyone x

Hi everyone hope you are all well
NHawth7 glad things are progressing well for you. How many follicles did you have in total? I think they try and look for as many as possible above a certain size something like 17 I think but it’s been a while since my last collection so not 100% sure on what size. I’m not sure if there’s a too big size or not, maybe it’ll be too mature but I don’t know. Some follicles don’t contain eggs too and they grow at different rates too. I’ve tried to look to see if you can see a pattern that everything grows by a certain amount 2 days after at a following scan but it doesn’t for me anyway as some grow faster than others or it’s just difficult to measure exactly.
Lorelai that’s fantastic news about the positive test! It’s a shame the other embryo couldn’t be frozen, did they say why? You don’t seem to have much luck with illness and transfers… I remember you saying last time you had a sickness bug. Hope you feel better soon. I use the clear blue digital because it says pregnant or not and I’m not sitting trying to look for a line or guessing, it tells me one or the other. When is your test date?
Spring22 how are you getting on?
I started stims on Saturday and aspirin. I bled from both my injections that night and I have several bruises but apart from that the meds are ok. My tickly cough is still hanging around but I’m not coughing as much which is a bonus. I had a full on spring cleaning day yesterday so I can try and make sure I relax after collection. My scan is Thursday x

Re: April/May 2025
Sounds great on your transfer Lorelai and lovely to be getting a faint positive. Keeping everything crossed for a nice progression and hope you’re staying sane in the process.
Nevergiveup, hope the stims are kind to you, glad to have started them no doubt! Hoping for some good follicles for you on Thursdays scan.
I had one streaking ahead at 24 and then I had a cohort of 6 that all look to be the right size. I had 6 collected last time so think we look to be in the same ball park. I wondered if we’d also get the 7th but I guess it depends how much more it grows and if it ends up past its best. They’ve planned me in for Thursday am so the doctors must agree I’m ready. Glad to be in this position at the moment and trying not to worry about future stages of the process!

Hi everyone,
I hope you are all doing ok.
Nevergiveup - the embryo wasnt of good enough quality to freeze. This is the same as last time for us. My test date is Tuesday 13th so still a few days away. I have had a little bit of spotting so I am getting a bit worried.
And you are right, I was ill last time also. that was worse though, the stomach bug wiped me out. I have a little boy who is 19 months and in nursery so we get a lot of illnesses!
How are you and how did you scan go?
NHawth7 - how are you after your egg collection yesterday? I hope all went ok and you are recovering well.
xx

Re: April/May 2025
Hi how is everyone getting on? It’s supposed to be nice weather this weekend so hopefully you can enjoy that and relax!
Lorelai have you tested again? Spotting can just be implanting though so try not to worry. My scan was ok I have 1 follicle at 13mm, 2 at 12mm, 2 at 11mm and 6 between 8-10mm. She said it looked good and it was similar to last time. They are bunched together and not spread out in sizes and some doing loads better, which is good apparently.
I’m uncomfortable now tho, it hurt a bit. Started aching after tea Wednesday night and felt ok yesterday morning but all the internal probing has made it uncomfortable. I’m also tired but then couldn’t get to sleep last night. She said I’ll start to feel tired, thirsty, aching and probably have more discharge now. I had a nap yesterday afternoon and I’m shattered now and have a headache so might try and see if I can sleep. I have another scan booked on Monday to see how things are going.

Hi ladies how you all doing.
Nhawth7 how did your egg collection go?
Loreali thats great news you got a faint positive have you tested again? Spotting can be a good sign fingers crossed for you.
Nevergiveup sorry to hear you’re not feeling 100% great news about how many follicles you have. Good luck for Monday scan. Have they given you indication when egg collection may be.

Hi all,
Sending all the good vibes Lorelai for test day. Lots of people seem to have spotting and it turns out okay but I can understand it’s unnerving at this stage xx
Nevergiveup your scan sounds really positive and should hopefully get a good amount of eggs. I bet you’re so ready for collection, I feel way better today now it’s done, just done a bit of yoga and enjoyed moving much more comfortably and having a good stretch!
My egg collection went okay, 7 eggs in the end and a call this morning to say 5 fertilised. I’m on cyclogest in case on Tuesday there’s either one that can’t be frozen, or one that’s hatching from the ICM as apparently they can’t do PGTA on those. Basically I’m wasting nothing as I imagine I’ll have 2 or 3 at best for transfer. They’ve booked me a transfer appointment incase it goes that way but we won’t know until Tuesday morning. I would just love to avoid a 3rd collection if I possibly can! Tuesday morning will be nerve wracking but going to try forget about it until then.

Wow…. It’s been a while! Can’t believe it’s been down this long. I mentioned it when I went for my transfer earlier and the receptionist said she would raise it with IT as someone else had mentioned it the other day. I missed chatting with you all and seeing how you are getting on!!!!
How have you all been? Positive tests? Collections? Starting meds? What are your updates?
I had my collection last Wednesday and have had a fresh transfer today x

Re: April/May 2025
Hi MSS
Collection was better than previous ones, they actually managed to get my cannula in 1st time and bit of pain after but off the paracetamol the following day.
They collected 13, 12 were mature and all 12 fertilised which was amazing! On Saturday, day 3 we had 7 that were 8-12 cells (where they should) and 5 a bit ahead but a couple of them didn’t reach their milestones they developed too quickly but were told they still might be ok.
This morning we were told we had 3 suitable, a hatching 2,1 explanding 2,1 and a blastocyst 2,2
There was another couple of blastocysts at were 2,3 but they can’t freeze them and then there was 6 they were still watching and 1 that was degenerating.
When we got there for transfer 6 hours after the phone call from the embryologist she said 2 they were watching had made it to a blastocyst so they could freeze them. They are also still watching 2-3 until tomorrow so will get a call from them to see if any others make it.
We used a hatching 2,1 with caremaps score of 10 so all looks good but we’ve had these not implant before so I’m keeping everything crossed, hoping and wishing. Hopefully we have at least 4 for the freezer.
This is the highest amount we have ever had so are really pleased. Last time we got something like 18, 15 mature, 9 fertilised and 3 blasts.
I’m a bit sore/uncomfortable as transfers don’t tend to go to plan with getting the catheter in. My dr came in especially to do our transfer today on her day off so we are so grateful for her doing that. She knows my body and how I react better than anyone there and has been amazing! X

Hi everyone! Its nice to be back on here, I have been checking most days!
Nevergiveup - i have my fingers and toes crossed for you. I am glad you are pleased with the outcomes, and great that you will have some to freeze. How are you feeling today?
NHawth7 - how are you getting on in the TWW?
MSS - how are you doing?
The update from me is that I had a positive test on test date and am now booked in for a scan next Wednesday. I have everything crossed that all is ok. I had a few days of spotting on and off around day 9/10 after transfer i think.

Hi nevergive up that is great news you managed to have better experienced in egg collection and the result. Glad you managed to freeze them too. Take it easy and rest up. Fingers crossed for you.
Loreali congratulation on your positive you must be excited for your scan next week.
I been good. Had my consultation with my consultant said no to scratching the lining. As my lining struggles to grove above 6.2 he said it could make it worse. Just need to see how i get on with my blood test end of the next month.

Re: April/May 2025
Lorelai that’s amazing news, I was thinking about you on test day and eager to know if it continued to be positive after early testing. I bet you are so pleased! How are you feeling in general?
I’m feeling ok bit uncomfortable and achy across my tummy and back but that’s to be expected I guess. I can’t remember feeling this achy before though. I haven’t had any spotting after the transfer either.
MSS that makes sense not doing the scratch and that’s the exact reason why I haven’t done it… you never know if it can make things worse. Have they suggested anything that could help thicken your lining even diet wise cos you know we all give anything a go if there’s even a slight chance.
Spring22 how are you getting on?
NHawth7 how are you coping with the TWW? When is your test day?
Update from me. I had my call to tell me how my embryos were doing this morning, day 6. The 4 that were ok to freeze yesterday they froze and I overnight I got another blastocyst, a hatching 2,2 with a care maps score of 6 I think so that’s graded 3rd out of the 5 suitable for freezing. The others were either not good enough quality, not done anything overnight or started to degenerate.
The most I’ve ever got is 4 suitable max. The first time 4, 2nd 1 (I’d ovulated) and 3rd I got 3 so to have 6 is good going. I just hope one out of those makes our healthy baby, preferably this one so I don’t have to go through another transfer or collection.
Hope you are all well x

Hi all!
It’s been rubbish being disconnected from you all, glad to be back!
Lorelai, congratulations on the continued positive! I bet it feels so big to be booked in for a scan and hope the wait isn’t feeling too long!
MSS, glad they’ve suggested what they think is best for your body, I can’t help but think a lining scratch sounds damaging. I don’t think the evidence is really there either for it.
Never give up, wonderful collection results, having more than last time just gives you more hope doesn’t it, and hopefully your one is in this batch!
I also had slightly unbelievable collection results, I kept thinking I was hearing the embryologist wrong. I had 7 eggs collected, 5 fertilised and unbelievably all made high quality day 5 blasts, scoring 10, 9 and 8 on caremaps. All suitable for biopsy and freezing. Last time we got 1 day 5 high quality to transfer fresh, a 2,2 day 6 and 2,3 day 6 to biopsy. As I’m doing PGTA I’m hoping for 1 or 2 normal ones to transfer. I just never thought we would get these results. So no fresh transfer for me. We took the opportunity to book a holiday to Spain whilst we wait the 3 weeks for the results and hopefully transfer would be next cycle if we have one. I haven’t asked for the individual grades of the 5 as I could do with less to obsess over! Oh and PGTA has cost us a fortune with there being so many, that invoice was a shock, but I’ve decided not to care about it

Hi all,
Glad to be back online after what seems to be the longest time. I’ve just started down regulation for a frozen transfer (i’m on day 5). My first time doing down regulation as I previously had only short cycles so not sure what to expect. The only thing I am noticing is i am more tired than usual.
Lorelai - congratulations on your test result it does seem like the longest time to get scanned but worth the wait
Nevergiveup - wow that is great results from your cycle, wishing you all the luck to get a sticky one
NHawth7 - that is excellent news and good you booked the trip. All the money spent on IVF and all the testing is worth every penny.
MSS - it does make sense to not do it and risk any further issues, hopefully you ll get good results and have the go ahead to continue treatment

Hi ladies how are you?
I’m going up the wall…. Transfer was Monday and that feels like 268427 days ago! This time for some reason it seems to be dragging so much. I’ve had a bit of tummy ache/discomfort in my lower tummy across the very bottom and then some in my back a bit higher. I can’t remember having it for that long after a transfer before but I still had it yesterday and not so much today but the odd occasion it’s niggled.
NHawth7 that’s good news with your results, not so much the invoice. I hope you enjoy your well earned holiday!
Spring22 how are you coping with the down reg meds? Do you have to go for scanning any time soon?
It’s all a never ending wait, expense and hope x

NHawth7 that’s good news with your results, not so much the invoice. I hope you enjoy your well earned holiday!
Spring22 how are you coping with the down reg meds? Do you have to go for scanning any time soon?
It’s all a never ending wait, expense and hope x
Re: April/May 2025
Hi nevergiveup,
How are you doing? Are you planning on testing early or will you wait it out? I remember having a bit of tummy ache after my transfer which lasted a couple of days (it was a successful transfer)
I am waiting for my next period and will go for a down regulation scan and blood test on day 7 of my cycle. A bit worried about it all as we moved since we did our first IVF and i did not want to move my frozen embryo so i am getting the scans in one clinic and the actual transfer at my clinic which is a 3-4 hour drive so I m hoping it will all run smoothly and not have any mishaps with blood tests or delayed scan results.

Hi Spring22
I’m ok thanks just seem to constantly be thinking about this one and hoping it’s working. I hope I’m not having false hope with getting the best number of blastocysts this time and thinking things might start to be going ok for a change. We told my kids for egg collection that I was having an injection in my tummy and it would hurt so be careful of mummy and my eldest yesterday out the blue came out with ‘it would be good if that injection you had 2 weeks ago meant you could have a baby and we can have a brother that’s alive this time’ took me by surprise a bit but oh my gosh I hope so much too!
I don’t plan on testing early because I had a 10000 trigger and don’t want to get a false positive. I’ve also had a chemical too and then I don’t seem to get high levels on test day so it’s probably not worth me testing early but last time I caved in and had the chemical so who knows lol.
Wow you have a bit of a drive. Are you planning to stay over or do the drive the same day? I get what you mean about no transferring the embryo to a different clinic and worrying about the transportation. When I had my eldest I did satalite care where I had all my scans and appointments in an NHS hospital and then just went to care for the collection and transfer but that was my NHS funded round. It worked well for me and seemed loads easier and we all need less stress. Have they given you a rough idea on when you could transfer? x

Nevergiveup, Hope the two week wait isn’t too unbearable. It really would be so nice to get positive news this time round! I’m also not an early tester, I don’t enjoy testing full stop!
MSS, how’s the wait been? Have you had any more blood tests to check your thyroid levels?
I feel like I’m in a 3 week wait for these genetic testing results, still have about 8 days to wait. We’ll be on holiday when we have the call from the embryologist, but might be better then sitting around home waiting for a call.
Hope everyone else is doing okay at the moment xx

Hi ladies how are you all doing?
Lotelai not long until your scan, how are you feeling about it?
MSS and Spring22 how are you both with your waiting for periods before starting treatment?
NHawth7 I agree getting away will probably help take your mind off the wait and will be good to relax a bit.
I’m doing ok. I slept for around 90 minutes Saturday afternoon and then Sunday I woke and had my pesserie and doing the dreaded google search and listening to the fertility dr videos for a bit and just felt so tired so slid back down into bed and had another hour or more. I’m hoping being tired is a good sign! I’m still getting a bit of discomfort in my lower tummy and back every now and then.
I wanted to make sure the trigger was out my system for peace of mind so I tested this morning and confirmed it has gone so at least if by some miracle this one has stuck I know it’s positive from that and not trigger.
This whole experience messes with you doesn’t it. I’m thinking that we transferred a hatching 2,1 which you can’t get much better with care maps of 10 so the best you can get. My lining was good and we have the best amount of freeze able blasts too so things looking the best they ever have so surely we are due a bit of luck?!?! But on the other hand I’m thinking it’s not worked for the last 4-5 years naturally and ICSI (other than our loss at 16 weeks) and we have tried so many times and I’m always that one that’s really happy for everyone else when they get their positive but just longs to get my own wondering if I will ever get my own and just feeling left out x
