Donating embryos when you're 'older'
We're in our early 40s and had 5 embryos made when we were both 41. We got 5 very good quality embryos. We were successful with our baby boy on embryo 3. Because of our age, we've decided to just stick with one child. However, i'm now left wondering what to do with the remaining 2 frozen embryos. I don't really like the thought of donating them to 'training' or 'research' as they're living things at the end of the day and I don't like the thought of them being messed about with. I also don't like the thought of them being destroyed. I'm quite open to the idea of donating them to a couple but I don't even know if this is possible because donors are usually in their 20s. Obviously there is a higher risk of issues at our age and the second embryo I had put in did have downs and resulted in a loss. But my boy is totally fine and the remaining 2 could be absolutely fine too. Just wanted to come on here and see what the option(s) might be and what people think I should do. Many thanks, Lisa
