Congratulations Sam & DH!!!!! I only lurk these days but have been waiting to see how things go for you, with everything crossed after what happened before. I look forward to reading about your adventures as a mummy very soon!!
I have followed your journey - all the up's and downs. I'd just like to say, thank God common sense has prevailed. You have most certainly got what you deserve.... worth all that waiting and agonising, eh?
A huge CONGRATULATIONS from me my lovely. I'm so, so happy for you.
All my love and best wishes for your future with your little girl.
So so happy for you and can't wait to hear all about intros. The heartache will have been worth it I promise.
Love
Mel xx
After years of tx and heartache we are having a family via adoption. 2yr old DS moved in June 08, AO granted 18/12/08 - A Forever Family Dec 09 starting again for #2 May 10 approved for #2...Found our daughter, can't wait to meet her
When did it settle in? That's a hard one, it is all so surreal, and so is intros, then it just kinda gets there! Well even now over a year later I sometimes think this is amazing.
One thing we did in the early days (there are lots of tips, but this is one I've never noticed anyone writing down, although they may have pics of parents), in his room (although DS was 22 months when he came so a fair bit older?), we had two rows of small photos in animal frames on his wall. The top row is one of me then one of DS (pics that we got from FC before intros) then one of DH, the row below is one of DH one of DS then one of me, they are still there and he still looks at them. I just think it shows right away the link between the 3 of you. Also we constantly said Mummy Daddy and ........, and still do, like in a little song, but just said it loads. There was also a picture frame of his door that said Ma Jungle and his pic was in it. Our DS settled in no problem at all, and I didn't really think we had done anything unusual, just thought it was because DS had a decent start going straight to FC at birth and had no issues, but our sw is constantly telling us not to underestimate that it was the way we handled things, and little things like this, our family book and we also used the butterfly book that Mel talked about, that made all the difference.
Just incase it's a wee thing that seems obvious but maybe not to everyone.
Lookign forward to hearing all about intros!

4 x IVF last one resulted in a pregnancy, unfortunately a blighted ovum.
Natural pregnancy but miscarried.
Decided on Adoption
Now the proud mummy of a gorgeous little boy arrived home 27th Feb 2009!!
Tentatively thinking about no.2!
Gill- I still don't think it has really settled in yet to be honest. Really good ideas too thanks. We are getting things
done slowly but surely. Furniture will be put up over the weekend, my work know and teddy is in our bed.. lol
Still doesn't seem real, can't believe it...
Claire- Thanks hun. We are so happy it is unreal. How are you doing?
What wonderful news, congratulations! I've been keeping a bit of a weather eye on you and you so deserve to feel so happy, its wonderful. Welcome to parenthood! :):D
