Hi everyone,
I thought I would start up a fresh topic about the PGD journey and experiences. There hasn't been much posting recently on this topic, it would be great if there were others in a similar position.
My husband and I have just sent off our swab samples to build our probe for testing. It is looking like 12-16 weeks until we are ready to begin the IVF part - so Feb/March time next year. I know I will go crazy with this wait....praying it somehow takes only a couple of months!!
Would be great to get to know others and share our journey through this.

Hi Sartuch,
It's great to get a reply, there hasn't been anything on the PGD section for quite a while! We must of sent off our samples around a similar time. That's amazing your probe has been finished so quickly!!! I was really hoping ours would be done sooner than they said, but I think it will be around the 12 weeks mark, so not until the first week of February. Yes, this whole thing is both exciting and full of worry. I am just trying to stay positive, and that everything will work out for us. My husband thinks it will work first time, whereas I am pessimistic and keep reminding him we may get no healthy embabies.

Hi,
I'd just like to say we started our PGD journey in June for a condition called neruofibromatosis, its a 50% chance of passing it on.
Myself my husband and other close family members all had blood taken which took 6 weeks for the result to come back.
Our embryos were grown to a 5 day blastocyst and then biopsied and screened, we had 6 on the first screen two came back positive for the condition, for us proving we were doing the right thing, and four came back as no result, these were re tested, we lost one in the freeze thaw process, we were lucky enough to be left with three good ones, we had one put back on 22/12 and im currently 8wks3days pregnant!!!
I used a clinic in London called CRGH.
Good luck with all your journeys xx
