Leicestershire LA

Hello guys (gosh it is absolutely ages since I posted on the BB! Although been visiting here for years)

I wondered if anyone had any experience with Leicestershire LA? We are having our information evening in the next few weeks, I have looked at Family Care VA briefly too.

Any other tips welcome - DH and I have been reading like mad and keen to get things moving as quick as we can!

Thanks

Yes we are with Leics LA and I would highly recommend them, plus they have lots of children at the moment. The first time it took us 14 months from initial visit to placement and this time it's taken 9 months, so they are pretty efficient.

Good luck.

Hi Debs

that's fantastic to know, thank you! Very useful on timescale idea too. Did you get to know the other adopters in your group? How many tend to be in a cohort?

Thanks - and congrats on your latest placement by the way, it's nice to know there are younger children available too (despite what everyone keeps saying!).

Take care

I'm surprised that Leics are not doing an info evening, as the sw's were saying last week at our planning meeting that they do them every month. I hope they do one for November, it's so frustrating waiting.

I think were about 10 couples, but we didn't keep in touch with any of them. You get more involved with the couple son your preparation course as it's 3 days, and we kept email contact with a few for awhile but not anymore. It'll probably be easier for you with living in Leicester.

Yes there are small babies out there, and I still can't believe I've been lucky enough to have one!

Our sw said this week they have lots of children so I hope you get started soon.

Good luck.
