Humira injections

Hi everyone,

After 3 miscarriages naturally and one with 1st cycle of IVF on NHS, I had the level 2 as I knew it was my body attacking embryo, the tests revealed extremely high counts. I was told to try intrapilid injections which I did and moved blood count from 50 to 44 so been told I now have to have Humira injections, steroids, aspirin and clexane (quite a lot to get my head round at the moment). I start these in 14days time and slightly nervous considering the side affects and warnings.

Is there anyone who has had these recently? Has it worked? Also, should I book time off work?

Feeling nervous...

Re: Humira injections

Hello, didn't want to read and not reply. I haven't had those injections but did have the following and we have our miracle little boy born 11/11/16 after one IVF with support.

I took infusions due to high NK cells I had four of these every four weeks from 8 weeks I think they started and one before the IVF.

I took steroids for 17 weeks of pregnancy should have stopped at 12 weeks but stayed on a little longer as did a very slow wean as I was worried about stopping.

Then I was on clexane throughout and 6 weeks after, with lots of extra check ups for my bloods and baby growth.

I was also on progesterone for 12 weeks.

All worth it as lead to a healthy baby boy :) but was very draining with all appointments and injections but we knew we had to ride through it and now I look back it seems so distant and that it wasn't that bad.

Good luck xx my advise is remain open minded take each day as it goes and focus on your future baby xx

Re: Humira injections

Thanks Becky,

I have had my first Humira injection which has left me with a head cold, sick bug and now a chest infection as my work involves me being around people who may have germs etc. I am waiting to see whether my IVF cycle can still go ahead and I can have my second Humira injection at a later date.

Feeling a bit deflated but maybe my immune system is being suppressed if I have managed to catch things going round.
