Hi Billi, believe that is natural as your uterus is starting to stretch & grow I had that after my OTD and every now & again I still get it... definitely can't do a full body stretch properly now lol.
Re: Autumn 2019 Babies
Hi everyone, congrats on your BFP's, think I'm ahead of you girls as I'm currently 9wks + 5 & due date is 2nd Oct.
Wishing you all a healthy stress free pregnancy, I have had no symptoms at all so don't feel pregnant at all which does play on my mind, 12 week scan feels like a lifetime away at the mo x

Hi Guys
Hope you don't mind if I join this group?
I am 7 weeks 4 days and have my scan with Care on Thursday. We had two embryos put back in so waiting to hear if it's 1 or 2....eeeekkkkkk!! I have been experiencing horrible nausea since week 6 and am really tired. Am also being very picky with food and some smells make me feel really sick. I have also had cramps, something I never realised you would get!

Re: Autumn 2019 Babies
When I had my 8 week scan at Care I got extra good news as my protocol said that I could stop the pessaries, was so glad I didn't have to do them until 12 weeks but everyone's protocol will be different. I took my OH with me to the scan and they gave me a photo as well of my little blob. Just hope they are growing ok, I've been refurbishing a house and am scared all the DIY I'm doing may have affected my blob.xBilli786 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2019 2:09 am Thanks lovelies thank God its normal i get scared when pain starts ....i have few questions

Re: Autumn 2019 Babies
That is great news on the pessary front, I am keeping everything crossed that I will get the same news. They give me diarrhoea and heart burn . I have been told not to swim until the scan. Did they say you could swim after your an? I have arranged a spa night away with lots of friends the weekend after next, and am wracking my brains as to what excuse I can use not to swim, use the sauna/steam room etc? And be in a bikini due to the messiness of the pessaries!! I think I'm going to say I ate something dodgy and don't want to take the risk so happy to chill out at the side of the pool!ML18 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2019 6:53 pmWhen I had my 8 week scan at Care I got extra good news as my protocol said that I could stop the pessaries, was so glad I didn't have to do them until 12 weeks but everyone's protocol will be different. Re: Autumn 2019 Babies
Hi ladies, i hope someone here can help me figure out how many weeks & days i’m at the mo. Jo i know you are a scientist so counting on you
So i know normally the dr count from the first day of the last period but it’s very different with us having IVF. I did a FET (5day blast transfered). I started down regulating on day 21 which was 5.01. A week later i had my period (13.01). I had to down reg for an extra week as my lining was too thick and had another bleed straight after my period which then shed the lining. My transfer was on 12.02 and my period should have been on at the same time. OTD was 25.02
Please help

Re: Autumn 2019 Babies
Nurse calculated mine from EC date so im 3 weeks only.
Because it is artificial pregnancy so last period date doesn't count.

Re: Autumn 2019 Babies
really ! she said to me im 3 weeks pregnant as they dont count the ivf pregnancy like normal one so the first day is the EC day and in normal one its the last period day.i didnt ask really but what u say makes sense as online it says the implantation happens in 3rd week n a woman is 4 weeks preg on the 14th day when period doesnt show up it means they will tell us on scan that more time is gone waao

Re: Autumn 2019 Babies
So you need to ignore what actually happened and do it with a little simple maths. With FET you transferred a 5 day on 12.02 so your adjusted ‘ovulation’ day is 07.02. You then count back 2 weeks from that to your adjusted ‘date of last period’ which would be 24.01. So you are today (6th March) 5 weeks and 6 days pregnant. Hope that helps!veronimo wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2019 7:32 pm Hi ladies, i hope someone here can help me figure out how many weeks & days i’m at the mo. Jo i know you are a scientist so counting on you

Re: Autumn 2019 Babies
That’s American dating. They go from ovulation day. In the UK the midwives will go on the adjusted date of last period, which is 14 days before your egg collection. Slightly more maths required if you had a FET. I did my booking form for the midwife and just put my adjusted date of last period and wrote next to it ‘adjusted due to IVF pregnancy. They’re used to it.Billi786 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 06, 2019 1:12 amreally ! she said to me im 3 weeks pregnant as they dont count the ivf pregnancy like normal one so the first day is the EC day and in normal one its the last period day.i didnt ask really but what u say makes sense as online it says the implantation happens in 3rd week n a woman is 4 weeks preg on the 14th day when period doesnt show up it means they will tell us on scan that more time is gone waao
Also yes they can estimate dates form scans, in fact a ‘normal’ pregnancy that is what they do. But with my first they wouldn’t budge his due date despite the fact he was measuring ahead because it was an IVF pregnancy so you can be totally accurate. Different midwives/antenatal clinics will do different things though!

Booking Appointments
I thought I would write a little as second timer about what to expect when you go see the midwife at the GP for the first time, ignore if not helpful, and it may be your midwife/NHS Trust do things differently. I’m in Leicestershire but opted for QMC Nottingham for birth last time and will again they were phenomenal.
So you won’t get to see a GP unless you have another condition or you need specific medications eg strong anti-emetics (anti-sickness drugs). The midwives know A LOT more than the GPs anyway. Your first appointment could last up to an hour. They will ask you if you have thought about which hospital you would like to nominate for the birth so it’s worth doing a little research. You can change this at any time so it’s not fixed in stone but I wanted to plan that early, plus different counties can have different paperwork (Nottingham and Leicestershire do for example). It will also determine (probably) which antenatal clinic you get sent to for your 12 and 20 week scans.
They’ll ask about your family history, whether you drink or smoke and info about how you’re feeling. You will probably have some tests described to you and what to expect over the next few months. Don’t be afraid to ask questions!
They will probably get you to wee in a little pot so they can check for proteins in the wee. In fact every appointment with them they will need you to bring a wee sample! Remember to ask for a pot to bring!
They will probably do a tummy exam, but they are very unlikely to do an internal (that might happen much later on to check cervix). I took hubby with me but tbh it wasn’t that exciting it was mostly paperwork. The ones you want them there for are the scans when you see baby and hear the heartbeat.
At later appointments they will check your tummy and may use a Doppler wand to listen to the heartbeat. They will measure the size of your bump to estimate how baby is growing.
Where I am being an IVF pregnancy made me ‘high risk’ so I was under a consultant at QMC. There is NO EVIDENCE that IVF pregnancies are higher risk than a normal one, but tbh I would just take the extra support. The only issue was they wouldn’t let me select a birthing centre for delivery I had to be on the ward. At 36 weeks I convinced them otherwise but then it all became irrelevant as it all went crazy during my labour (I’ll spare that story for now!). So just be prepared for them possibly making you ‘high risk’ although again I think that very much depends on where you are based.

Re: Autumn 2019 Babies
Thanks Hope, I'm trying to take it easy but because I haven't had any symptoms & got no bump so I keep forgetting that I'm pregnant (I know that sounds stupid!) and I do have to keep reminding myself to slow down when working and taking more breaks.Hope2019 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2019 7:21 pmThat is great news on the pessary front, I am keeping everything crossed that I will get the same news. Check your protocol letter, it did actually say on mine when I was due to finish the pessaries I just hadn't read it. I read somewhere not to swim in first trimester so I have avoided the pool so far. Your excuse of a dodgy tummy sounds good for when you go away to your spa night, I don't think they recommend saunas or jacuzzis during pregnancy either so being just by the poolside would be best. You could always dip your legs in the pool but hopefully your friends won't pressure you to get in.
