Re: Autumn 2019 Babies

Hello how’s everyone doing?
Interesting about the swimming, I really want to go as seems like a great way to do light exercise n I really need it as have been vegging out to much through IVF proses n am starting to feel really unfit! But I keep reading different things about swimming some things say it’s great others it’s high risk... really hard to no what’s true and after getting this far I don’t want to do any thing to jeopardise things!!

Re: Autumn 2019 Babies

Liaka did you have EC this time or was it a FET? If you had egg collection I think the risk of infection is higher as they cut the vaginal wall when going in to get them out? I went in a public swimming pool at 4 weeks after mine last time to be fair as I had a spa trip booked! Your cervix is closed so there’s no risk there - it’s about what you feel comfortable with. It’s pretty unlikely you’ll get an infection from a public pool.
ICSI cycle started 25/12/16
ET 02/02/17 - BFP! DS born October 2017 :D
FET 06/02/19 - BFP! DD born November 2019 :D

Hi
Yes I had EC on the 15th so it’s almost been 3 weeks now, should be enough time for it to heal, I’m speaking to the hospital today anyway so might just check with them. Thanks though! These groups are great for info sharing! I’d be a bit lost with out them! ❣️

When I had my 8 week scan at Care I got extra good news as my protocol said that I could stop the pessaries, was so glad I didn't have to do them until 12 weeks but everyone's protocol will be different. I took my OH with me to the scan and they gave me a photo as well of my little blob. Just hope they are growing ok, I've been refurbishing a house and am scared all the DIY I'm doing may have affected my blob.x
That is great news on the pessary front, I am keeping everything crossed that I will get the same news. They give me diarrhoea and heart burn 🙄. I have been told not to swim until the scan. Did they say you could swim after your an? I have arranged a spa night away with lots of friends the weekend after next, and am wracking my brains as to what excuse I can use not to swim, use the sauna/steam room etc? And be in a bikini due to the messiness of the pessaries!! I think I'm going to say I ate something dodgy and don't want to take the risk so happy to chill out at the side of the pool!

Good luck with the refurb! Make sure you do the lighter jobs....if there are any!
Thanks Hope, I'm trying to take it easy but because I haven't had any symptoms & got no bump so I keep forgetting that I'm pregnant (I know that sounds stupid!) and I do have to keep reminding myself to slow down when working and taking more breaks.
Check your protocol letter, it did actually say on mine when I was due to finish the pessaries I just hadn't read it. I read somewhere not to swim in first trimester so I have avoided the pool so far. Your excuse of a dodgy tummy sounds good for when you go away to your spa night, I don't think they recommend saunas or jacuzzis during pregnancy either so being just by the poolside would be best. You could always dip your legs in the pool but hopefully your friends won't pressure you to get in.
My protocol says I have to take the the pessaries for 6 weeks, but when I spoke to care they said they would let me know when to stop after I've had my scan. So fingers crossed it will be 6 weeks. I am also going to tell my friends that I'm giving up drinking for lent to get me through the spa night away!! My scan is at 4pm today, I'm a little nervous. Will keep you all posted.

If you could share what you find out about swimming that would be very much appreciated. I am used to swimming 3 times a week and am really missing it, so much so I keep dreaming about it!! Like you I have done very little exercise whilst going through the IVF process and just feel unfit and less toned. I just want to do what is right, like you said, we've come this far there is no way I'm going to do anything to risk it.

Hi
I spoke to the nurse today re Swimming and they don’t advise it because of the risk of infection, a shame but makes sense so that’s good enough for me. Long walks will have to do instead for now, also seen some first trimester yoga videos on u tube, haven’t tried them yet 🕺

Re: Autumn 2019 Babies

Just thought I would update you all, I had my scan at care yesterday and out of the two embryos put back we have one strong heartbeat! ❤️ We are so so happy, it was so surreal. I am 8 weeks today so due 18th October. I cried all the way home!!

I also get to stop the pessaries next Thursday....yyiiipppppppeeeeee!!

Re: swimming, I was told I can get back to it, but not to push myself as hard as I usually would. The advice re swimming is so contradictory. There is no hope of me pushing myself too hard, I have zero energy at the moment 🙈

Have you added on 2 weeks to your dates Billi? A 6wk scan seems very early? I thought they are normally done when you are between 7-8 weeks? When I had my scan, it had been exactly 6 weeks since I had EC but they add on 2 wks so it was my 8 wk scan. Hope that makes sense?

Ahh I'm sure it is very nerve wracking for you. We found the 3 week wait for the scan the hardest, much worse than the 2 week wait. We didn't get to hear the heartbeat, we only saw it beating away on the screen but that was just perfect! I still can't quite believe it!

Re: Autumn 2019 Babies

Is everybody sleeping ok? I am waking up at 4-5am EVERY morning 😫 mainly due to feeling sick. I am then struggling to get back to sleep. I know pregnancy prepares your body for the lack of sleep, I guess I'm just surprised it's happening so quick. I am literally feeling sick right through the day until I go to bed. Am living on ginger biscuits!!

I'm sleeping much better now I'm not doing the pessaries, I was doing them every 8 hrs and with working shifts my body clock was all over the place. I haven't had any sickness yet am hoping that I won't have any at all but I know everyone is different ...try weak peppermint tea if you like it as that may help settle your stomach.

Control line doesn’t mean anything that’s just the test. But even the test line doesn’t because you might be using more dilute urine/different time of day etc etc. If you were miscarrying you would know, the bleeding would be at least as heavy as a period x

Re: Autumn 2019 Babies

Nose bleed won’t be related. Try and stay calm, my worry is you’re getting very stressed and that won’t help you or baby. If you’re genuinely worried can I suggest contacting your local hospital and asking for their Early Pregnancy Unit. The one at QMC in Nottingham have been a life saver for me both pregnancies. They are very patient and supportive and never dismissive of concerns x

I went to A&E Yesterday n doc said its very common in early pregnancy but i never heard of it before 🤦🏻‍♀️

Re: Autumn 2019 Babies

I’ve had my scan today: 8 weeks + 3 days. Baby measuring a lovely 8 + 5 with a fab heartbeat. Little arms and legs waving around to say hi! Still can’t quite believe it but I guess there’s no escaping it now! I would love a Stilton burger or a lovely ripe chunk of Brie though - forgot I can’t eat that for another 32 weeks!!!!!!

How is everyone?

Ahh that was exciting and reassuring for you! How are you feeling in terms of symptoms?

I am struggling, just had a cry to my husband 🙈 think my hormones are all over the place. The tiredness is relentless, I have no energy at all. Junk food is my best friend, I am so off healthy food which is so unlike me. I'm 9 was 4dys so hopefully that will all pass in a few weeks. I know I shouldn't moan, just think I hit a low today and it all came out. I have my booking in appt with the midwife on Friday!
