Re: March 2024

Hey Lauren, happy easter!
I wondered how you’d been getting on. Yeah I think the anticipation of the injections is far worse than the reality. Great you’ve not been feeling too bad.
That’s exciting you’ve got your scan tomorrow! You might be surprised by the eggs, not be alarmed if they are all still quite small - I’ve found there is a rapid growth between the first and second scan!

Yeah we got 12 fertilised overall and will get a day 3 update tomorrow so that will be interesting as we didn’t get that last time! As you say, it’s only takes one 🤞🏻

Re: March 2024

Hi girls,

Happy Easter! 🐣

12 fertilised in total is amazing Lucy!

When I had my eggs retrieved, I got 6 eggs, 5 fertilised and then 4 made it to day 5! I’ve had ICSI with all of mine 😊

And thank you Lauren! Fingers crossed! 🤞🏻
Glad you’re doing well on your stims! I didn’t find them bad at all either! Hope your scan goes well 😊 xxx

Re: March 2024

Oh blimey, sorry- I read that wrong. Even better number then and fingers crossed they grow nicely and one of them will be your little bean in 9 months time. ❤️ :)

Absolutely, I have worried I’ve been doing too much because of how ok I’ve felt. Still doing quite a lot of walking and bits but no other exercise. Did you all keep doing things as normal? I guess everybody’s different anyway aren’t they and all different dosages/protocols and what not

Sounds like we’re an ICSI bunch! we’re doing ICSI too ☺️

Aww Charly it’s good to know your numbers are roughly how mine are likely to be were just praying we have some good ones. You read some people with such high numbers don’t you! I hope you’re feeling ok, when will you have a scan/what will the next steps be for you because I have no blooming clue lol :| x

Re: March 2024

Good numbers but I had 8 last time and it didn’t amount to anything - it’s definitely better to have quality over quantity!

That’s great you are still feeling good Lauren! As you say, very different for everyone. I felt very tired in the final few days of my first round but not too bad this time around.

Charly - do you have a 6 week scan? Have you registered with a midwife or not just yet?

Re: March 2024

Before embryo transfer Lauren, I was doing everything as normal then once I’d had the embryo transfer done, I turned into a couch potato for the 2 week wait! 😊

I rung the clinic the day before my official test day and told them that I’d had a positive test, they booked me in for the 7 week scan, because my dates fall over the weekend they scanning me at 7 weeks 3 days. 😊

They told me to register the pregnancy with midwives but I’ve not dare do it yet after my last early miscarriage, I’m going to leave it until I’m 6 weeks to make sure I don’t start bleeding again or anything! 🤞🏻 xx

Hey ladies. I seem to make a habit of posting and then disappearing for a week so I’ve missed so much!!

Charly -congratulations. Argh, through the first hurdle. I know you’ll be cautiously optimistic after your history but it sounds like it’s going well so everything crossed for you. When is your scan booked in for?

Lauren - it sounds like you’re taking it all in your stride which is great - I was similar with my stims.. just tried to get on as normal until after collection / transfer and then took it easy! We also had ICSI !

Lucy - glad your egg collection went so well and also great that they’re ringing you with an update on day 3 so you don’t have the gruelling day 5 wait! How are you feeling?

I hope you’ve all had lovely long weekends x

Re: March 2024

Hey KMor, how are you doing? Your test date must be soon?

Got the 3 day update - of the 12 one of them quickly turned abnormal. Of the remaining 11, 8 of them are at the 6+ cells they were hoping to see today - about about 6 look reasonable. So hopefully by Wed there will be at least one that has progressed. They think it was at this stage last time that they slowed down (but they forgot to use the embryoscope so can’t tell for sure!). It’s all so nerve wracking!

Charly - 4 embryos on day 5 out of 6 eggs is amazing numbers! I’m sure you’re counting down for the scan but hopefully feeling ok overall.

I know it’s such nerve wracking time but that all sounds really encouraging. I have everything crossed that you get some lovely blasts. Have you got anything to distract yourself the next couple of days?

I’m doing ok thank you. I actually did an early test yesterday (11dpt) and it was positive, which I’m naturally really pleased and grateful for. I’m still going to test tomorrow, which is my official test date and then ring the clinic. I’m very much in Charly’s ‘cautiously optimistic’ camp given my history, so just tackling one hurdle at a time and hopefully this time it sticks ❤️ I’ve been quite good through the tww and keeping busy so let’s hope I manage to stay sane through the next 3 weeks until the scan 🤣 haha xx

Kmor congratulations that’s amazing news! We can be cautiously optimistic together! 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Lucy them numbers are sounding excellent, got everything crossed for you that you get a few to freeze as well as one to transfer! 😊😊

Had a little panic last night because I had a bit of pink discharge when I wiped! Rung the care emergency phone for advice! Wasn’t very helpful at all, just got told it could be completely normal, she said they won’t bring my scan forward and they won’t check my HCG and to ring back if the bleeding turns to fresh blood! Did a pregnancy test this morning and it’s still a strong positive so feeling reassured at the minute! Finger crossed 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Re: March 2024

Charly - sorry to hear about the pink! But hopefully it was nothing. I guess the helpline do get a lot of calls but clinics do seem to vary a lot on whether they will offer early scans etc. I guess they wait to see if there is a significant bleed or not.
Anyway hopefully it was nothing major and it won’t happen again. Fingers crossed for you!

Re: March 2024

Oh Charly - I’m sorry about the pink, it’s really not what you need! How has it been since? I know that even some bleeding can be totally normal but when you’ve had a MC, I appreciate the sheer anxiety it can trigger when you see anything at all. Hopefully you’re doing ok. When is your scan booked in for? Mine is quite late this time - not until 23rd when she said I’d be 7weeks + 4 days! They’ve always brought me in at 6.5weeks at the latest previously.

Lucy - do you get your day 5 results back today? Keeping everything crossed for you xx

Re: March 2024

Hey KMor, oh wow 23rd seems late for a scan! On the other cycle buddy months they seem to be doing them more at 7+ weeks too.
Had my results today, had a decent embryo transferred and one frozen. Two more which they will assess tomorrow to see if they can freeze. So much better embryos than the first round!
They were a bit worried about OHSS and did see some fluid on the scan but decided it was minimal so thankfully went ahead.

Thanks! Had a quiet afternoon yesterday and trying to take it easy at work today (desk based so nothing strenuous!).
Got a call to say they’ve been able to freeze 3 in total so I’m very happy. Such a different result to our first cycle! Xx

Re: March 2024

Hi everyone,

There has been no more pink since so I think we’re in the clear, I don’t have any pregnancy symptoms yet which I think is making me extremely paranoid as well! I should be 5+5 today! It’s so bad that all I want is morning sickness to know I’m actually pregnant! 😂😂

My scan is 7+3 on the 16th April!

How are you feeling Kmor?

And congratulations Lucy on your embryo transfer, get lots of rest! And I’m glad you got some to freeze as well, that’s brilliant! 😊

Re: March 2024

Hi everyone,
Thought I would jump in. I had FET on 21st March and positive test yesterday. I am struggling to get too excited this time (like you Charly) as I had a missed miscarriage in November which if anyone hasn’t heard of means I had all the symptoms (never been so sick) and went for the viability scan to find no heartbeat- it had stopped beating at 7 weeks. Then had to have an operation to remove it so I’m really nervous this time round.
I’m 4+5 and my scan is on 25th.
Hope you’re all well 💕

Hi ZLC, congratulations! I had a missed miscarriage with my first pregnancy too - very upsetting.
I can completely understand why you would be nervous this time but fingers crossed!!

Hi Lucy,

Ah it’s nice to have someone who can relate (lucking for my friends they haven’t been through that).
I’m with Tunbridge Wells, how about you?
Sorry, I’m sure you have said but when is your test or scan?

Re: March 2024

Hey, I’m at Woking. My clinic asks to test 11 dpt so my official test date is the 14th April, however, last time my period started 8/9 days post transfer so we will see if I make it to the 14th.
I’m 2 dpt today and still having a lot of tummy cramps / back pain. I don’t remember it being this bad last time!
I’m sure you are counting down to your scan. It’s torture to have the 2ww and then a 3 week wait for a scan isn’t it 🤣

Hi everyone,
Just been catching up with the posts. I’m on my 4th round and had an FET on the 2nd, test date is the 15th April. Feel the same this time round as the others so keeping fingers and toes crossed. I’m also at the Tunbridge Wells clinic.

Re: March 2024

Ah you are both testing together (almost!) I have my fingers crossed for you both… I had the same symptoms as last time so I knew pretty much straight away it had worked. I tested 5 days early and got a positive both times - so impatient! Both were from frozen so I knew it wouldn’t be a false positive.
The wait is so hard! I swear I was suffering with morning sickness by now last time but may start soon and then I’ll regret wanting it as it was soooo bad before!
Clare do you live in T. Wells?
I have turned into a hermit as everyone seems to be sick and I panic I’m going to catch it. Definitely more panicky this time round, was so chilled last time!

Re: March 2024

Hi Claire, ah similar test dates! Have you had any positives before?

ZLC - so many germs going around! I’m sure being a bit of a hermit isn’t a bad thing, good to get the rest!

I’ve had a bit of a dramatic / horrendous 24hrs. My cramping and pain got so bad yesterday evening that I was curled on the bathroom floor in pain for an hour and had to crawl in to the shower to try and relieve it. I called the care out of hours number and the said it is probably OHSS which I was showing some minor signs of before transfer. They said If it got bad again to go to A&E so I ended up having to get a taxi there at 2am (my husband couldn’t take me as we have a toddler who was in bed and we have no family locally). I waited in agony curled up on a chair for 4hrs to see a gynea Dr who just said blood & urine tests were all fine and yes it was probably just OHSS and to keep taking paracetamol! I’d been taking that and still been in floods of tears due to the pain - it was worse than labour! They sent me home with a prescription for codine and I’ve been in bed barely able to move. So I’m feeling a bit sorry for myself today and feeling like this can’t be good for implantation trying to happen :-(

Oh Lucy I’m so sorry to hear that, it’s really not what you need right now. I hope it subsides quickly, did they say it was a risk to your embryo at all?
It’s good the doctors didn’t seem to worried but I’m sure when you’re in that much pain it’s easier said than done.
I hope you’re ok 🩷
